View Full Version : Box art assistance
Ron Gross 02-21-2009, 10:31 PM I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge someone who was accidentally not included in the list of people credited in the Flying Sub project. Actually, it's a small company called Pendercrafts, made up of two people, Rich Taylor, and Ronnie Pendergraft. Everone knows how cool Frank and Co. are about including everyone, so this was obviously an honest oversight.
When I did the box art for the Flying Sub, I needed an indication of what the interior would look like at my chosen angle. These two guys graciously supplied me with a number of images from their own 3D model, and I am attaching the one that I used as a guide.
If you have a minute, please visit their web site, www.pendercrafts.com. Although it isn't exactly our kind of modeling, I find their work to be truly amazing. You will also notice as you enter the site that Ronnie lost his dear wife Glenda just before Christmas last year. As a result, Rich and Ronnie haven't done a whole lot with their projects recently, but perhaps with some encouragement from the folks on this forum, they will see fit to get back on the horse again.
Thanks,
Ron G.
steve123 02-21-2009, 10:38 PM Very nice site, Thank you!

Thor1956 02-22-2009, 02:06 AM Thanks for the heads-up Ron.
I've visited Rich and Ronnie' site and I have to say that thier Chariot, Jupiter 2 and Flying Sub models are fantastic ... even if they are simulators ...
MAX WEDGE 02-22-2009, 01:53 PM Thanks for letting us know Ron, I have always been a Fan of Pendercrafts work:thumbsup:
Thanks, Ron.
While we were looking forward to that recognition, I understand that stuff happens....just our luck LOL we always wanted our name somewhere on a licensed space productions product but we keep missing the mark.
Knowing that we have so many fans is usually enough.
A slight correction to what you wrote, we actually have 3 prime members, Myself, Ronnie and Carl Reddin, who made the Chariot and all our add-on sceneries. We also have a few Beta testers, and a few others who specialize in art and movie making, one of them being Bill Hedges, owner of original LIS props and owner of the LIS props yahoo group. Bill also provided us with copies of the fox blueprints for the upper deck of the J-2 to help with building our Goddard edition Jupiter-2 for FS-2004
We are so glad you came to us for some help....the name of Ron Gross is well known throughout the Irwin Allen community...especially with LIS and the Jupiter-2.
Maybe we will get it right next time.
Best regards,
Rich Taylor

Yes, Ron is our #1 fan, next to me and the boyz LOL.
Ronnie is slowly trying to return, and I am not rushing him. He thanks everyone for their heartfelt condolences, and he appreciates all the kind words for pendercrafts.
We are almost to our 5th anniversary and Carl is hard at work on some new projects for scenery...so something from us should be available before too much longer. I have posted a few new videos to youtube that he made, so check em out. You can find any of our videos by typing in pendercrafts in the youtube search engine.
