I am looking for ideas on how to transport the car. I will be carrying the car in the back of my pickup and was wondering if anyone has built a box or ???????
Thanks

The only thing I would do would be get a bed cover to keep the rain off your equipment and improve your MPG

That is a great idea, although I would like to be able to secure the car. I am new to ¼ scale and though it would be a good idea not to transport the car on it wheels.
Thanks

OK, I am curious now. Why don't you want to travel with the cars on thier wheels? I do when I go racing and I travel 3 hours to race. I secure them so they can not roll but they are on thier wheels.

It's merely racer preference. I do it myself whether hauling in my truck or trailer...cars sit on foam... not wheels.

What is the thought process behind not letting the cars ride on there wheels during transport.

Easier on the shocks and suspension parts.

I never transported mine on the wheels infact I took the wheels off. I had two 2x4's on 1/2" plywood. The 2x4's are 1 near the front and 1 just infront of the rear axle. then a bunge strap through the frame to hold the car to the wood.. The idea of keeping the car off the ground is it is not running the suspension through it's travel with every bump in the road = less wear on the 1/4 scale suspension. Hope this helps.

It is terrible to travel with car sitting on tires. Mainly on the shocks. Been good things posted. Keep her suspended.

Logan and I went to the track last night and the car was all over the place. I really though the rain would have cleaned it, but I was wrong or it could possibly be my setup on the car. The car slid around every corner of the track.
Thanks for the help on transporting.
Randy

Even though it rained, the track will still be dirty plus cold. It takes many laps this time of the year to get heat in the tires. Getting an idea on your setup will be tough. Try a warmer day to check your sertup.... say in the 60's.

This weekend I built a car stand. I don’t know if is strong enough, but it was cheap enough. It elevates the car to a perfect height on the table I am using and I believe it will work to transport the car on.

If it's sch 40 pipe, it would hold a motorcycle ot two!!! That's all you need to get the job done. :thumbsup:This weekend I built a car stand. If you fill the bottom portion with sand, I don't think you'll ever have a problem tipping over.

That’s a great idea. I wish I would have thought of that before.
I have a few bags of shot I will have to use.

Drill you a 1/2 or 5/8" hole, tap it and plug it with a 1/2 or 5/8" NPT plug after filling. That way you can remove the material later if needed. That’s a great idea. I wish I would have thought of that before.
