I just got back from TRU and I brought home a 1:24 Black Bandit 69 Camaro SS 396 #0030. It's a TRU exclusive. Anyone have any info on these? production #'s, GM #'s

Total production: 1100
GM's: 2% = 22

Only the 2008 Shelby GT500 will NOT have a GM version.

Thanks for the info.

What are the GM traits?

There was a #12 Vette there. I probably should have bought that one.

Green wheels and base are the GM traits, the Shelby Stang=no greenies. Nothing here yet, I'm sure I'll be at work when it happens, oh well.:(

Does your BB Camaro have a issue with the front windshied not sitting flat ?
I've seen a couple, and they both had a slight air gap at the top.

Anyone know how many per case, 1 of each (4 total cars)? I saw 4 today, one of each at the local TRU. I'm a high end 1/24 collector and what I saw, IMO, not worthy of $25 plus tax. Packaging and ability to see what's in the box were part of the issue for me. They need to do a better job of selling the sizzle in features, etc, if their is something to sizzle of course.

The Z06 was the best of the bunch IMO, neat flat black paint, I was hoping the Mustang would be sharp but I was underwelmed by the wheels........... just my preferences though, I'm sure they are nice cars.

I figured they would give JL a shot again as they have in 1/64 taking over the quality vs pricepoint spot for retail releases. At this point, only the first releases, but I'd give the nod to JL.

Comared to a 1/24 JL they are really light, and the price a little high, but i bought the ZO6 Friday. I could not resist

How was the detail? I'm in the middle of a deal to hopefully get the GT 500.

Can't see a whole lot in the box, but looks pretty good

First of the GM's are hitting ebay. It will be interesting to see what they go for. The #1 Camaro was listed but buyer closed the auction.

Saw all 4 at TRU today. If the price point was similar to 1:24 JLs, I would have picked up the Camaro. But for $10 more and far lighter than a JL, I left all 4 on the shelf.
The detail seemed OK but the quality on some of the wheels looked questionable, especially considering the $24.99 price tag.

Not impressed with the quality of these. For me the Camaro is a total bust. A plastic roof on a diecast car? 2 out of the 3 I looked at seems like they are separating where the roof meets the body of the car. In any event, the gap there is too noticeable IMO. Screams cheap to me.

The plastic roof is there so they can use the casting as both a coupe and convertible.

Since there are no Mopars in this set, I will pass, unless it has green wheels of course!;)

Yep, I'm well aware of that. I originally bought the Orange and the Silver Camaros they put out last year. Then promptly took them back because they felt cheap IMO. The "hardtop" kept seperating from the car itself. I had hoped that this was a symptom of new design but most of the ones I've seen on the shelves have some roof issue. A few even had cracks in the roof.

An acceptable practice to do this on 1/64 but not 1/24. The crummy detail gets worse. The convertibles do look decent though.

I heard they were a run of 30?? Anyway, this has to a halfway decent score, heh.

Congrats on the Camaro find fuddmeister. I'll bet that was BIG SMILE time! :woohoo:

That is the only one of the four I wanted in GM trim. Unfortunately, My shelf buys were limited to regulars.

Back at the same TRU today (one week later). All four 1:24 BBs still on the shelf.

There are 22 of each greenie, Mustang not included. I can't quite make out the number in your pic, is it 22? If so, SWEET!

Same here. They've been there over two weeks. With exception of the GMs, these appear to be duds for GL and TRU. Will probably be on clearance in a few months. I don't collect 1:24's, but I wonder if it is the same with JL (i.e., only the WLs sell and the rest sit)?

TRU dosn't do clearance.

The one in my area does. Currently have certain JLs at $2 along with Foose.

With no Mopars, I wouldn't pay more than $5 for each.

TRU dosn't do clearance in a big way the way Target does. Its common to
see stuff sit at TRU for a long time.
