Okay, maybe some guys can help. How so you CORRECTLY check camber on a xxxt? I heard to push chassis to the floor and then set, and I've also heard to check at ride height. There's a differnce in both, so whats right.

SlaminRC17 02-19-2009, 11:27 PM At ride height.Kevin CClay1282 02-20-2009, 12:37 AM I would take the tire and pull the top out on it and then "set" the car by lightly pushing the chassis down and letting it come back up. The reason to "pull" the top of the tire out is because when you turn that is what is going to happen to the tire. SlaminRC17 02-20-2009, 01:38 PM I've run many different types of RC's , and full size racecars, and you should always check the castor/camber at ride height. To get a "true" ride height, hold the vehicle off the ground slightly, set it down then push down on the chassis, and let it come back-up, which will settle the chassis at ride height. Kevin coralguy1 02-27-2009, 12:58 PM Check it at ride height, but, because tires "stick" to your table or desktop which interferes with your true ride height, put one piece of paper under each wheel. This allows the wheels to slide and allows the car to settle into its true ride height. On an offroad car you should drop the car from about 6 or 8 inches to allow it to rest at its true ride height. Fantom73 03-06-2009, 07:08 PM Settle the suspension by dropping the chassis from about 6 inches, this acts like landing a jump, then use a camber gauge (RPM makes a great inexpensive one, Or get a serious rc set up board from integy, personally have one for a touring car and its the best investment yet) and then check. not hard to do, but is very important to the handling of any vehicle. Hopes this helps harmocy 03-08-2009, 03:32 PM Always at ride height after pushing down and allowing it to rebound naturally and the biggest thing is to have the car loaded with every bit of race weight. Everything including body helps. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
