Hello folks, I have been putting some thought into this season. Due to the economy or the lack of, I will have no price increases. $10 will still be the only fee and will not have a second class fee this year. As for rules we will try to match up the same as the Western Illinois Series. The only rule that I know of that we will not adapt is the battery rule for lm. I will still have a open battery rule as I am sure they are going to dodc batts. I could be mistaken on this, but from what I last read, that was the ruling.
There has been one class added to this years classes, and that would be a spec sprint class on cw tires and 13.5 motors, and battery yet to be determined. This class is to get people into a sprint class with minimum expense, and to help the open sprint class grow.
Would like to try and get together before the weather breaks and discuss things that I should put in place to help things go smoother. This year I will have a drivers meeting before we start and to cover any issues.
I am looking forward to seeing every one again this year and to have some fun in the dirt. And speaking of dirt, the plan is for a new supporter of the track to be bringing some clean dirt and some equipment to get things ready. Talk to you all soon TT.

Thank You Jason for the pics. I forgot to post the days for racing, which will be every Wednesday at 6:30. The start time is a 1/2 hour earlier than before. I will run 1 Saturday a month, which I don't have the dates figured out yet. The Saturdays may go to 2 times a month if crowd dictates. Thanx and see ya soon.

Are you just using the CW tire rule and not the rims Tim, err I mean Marvin?

JasonAB25
02-20-2009, 11:55 AM
I don't think he has a rule on the rims, but i haven't seen anyone run those tires on another rim. Looking forward to getting back out on the track this summer!!! I heard the sun is coming out this afternoon and it's going to warm up to around 70 by the weekend. Tim, you gonna have the track ready by Sunday:)?

Jason, I think you drunk or high or it could be just wishful thinking. I'm ready for the summer as well, it's been a looooong winter.

I hope that mother nature is kind to us and think that the 13.5 sprint class could be fun. Should save on tire expense.

I just as well be drunk AJ, job search is pretty bleak:( I'm ready for summer too, so who is going to run what on the high banks. Working on getting some things back up to speed for the outdoor season, I'm still up in the air on what classes to run so thought i'd see what everyone is planning to run. Oh and TT i sent ya a PM over on dodc. Later all.

Glad I found the new thread Tim. I'm all there with the spec Sprint Car class - mine is sitting on the bench waiting to run. I know we aren't weekly regulars, but I'm a little disappointed that the time will be moved up to 6:30 - makes it all that harder for us DBQ guys.

The reason for the early start is for the late finishes. We do not have to do it that way. I can leave at the same start time and change some things during the races. I want to be done at 9:30 or 10 if we start at 7. I am really ready and excited about this year and ready to get outside and get some work done. Talk to ya all soon,TT.

Jason, I like the pictures, especialy the 2 with the THREE STOOGES (I didn't know you guys had celebrity races). Have to make a road trip to watch some time.

AJS
03-03-2009, 05:35 PM
The three Stooges? Jenzo, Ken and Galloway. LOL
Come on over Terry, I'll even let you pilot one of these real race cars.

No EDM for AJ, mine is setup for one last run in the dirt before outdoors begins. I will bring your 17.5 motor Jason.

I've got that shiny new KTSSU motorsports lid to sport on sunday, but i'm sure that a IMCA type body would suffice. I'm just excited to go racing again. I've got a new program in the works for this summer too:)

I might have a new look for Sunday with my new wrap where it looks dirty. Or it might just be real dirt and or maybe I will just wash it who knows? You guys should see the track as it has a few wheel marks on it right now. Or maybe it doesn't. Anybody done guessin yet? Talk to you all soon. Will try to get to the track on Sunday, depends on the race cars I have to do this weekend. Late TT.

Sup fellas ? I am just bass ackwards right now with real race cars. The track is dry and could be worked on but there isn't enough time at this point. I was hoping for a first of april start but looks like it could push back to mid april. Any how will talk to you all soon and will have pics of the cars up soon. I will also try to get my series mdm car done and get some pics of that also. I am excited about that car as it is 30 + years old and goes pretty good. Went old school for my mdm ride with a jrx2. TTYAL TT

JasonAB25
03-17-2009, 03:52 PM
Hey JT, check over on dirtoval.com, I think there was a guy looking for one in the wanted section a couple weeks ago, might work out good for both of you. I'd try and sell him the whole car though, they don't make those chassis anymore and there's some guys looking for them.

Oh ye of little faith, I am only runnin a baby motor in this antique! I think it might be faster than my new car. But will have to wait and find out as I have only ran a couple packs thru this fine piece of racing equipment. They say things get finer with age, and on my part a fine wine usually smells like sour grapes. I will try to stay closer to the thread at night so I can keep all informed with track developments. Man there are a lot of race cars up here this year.

Now that the BRL at Vinton is over, it's time to sling some dirt, really looking forward to it this year. Sprint cars are the most fun of any RC that I have raced and I now have 2.

Tim have you put a roof on the track so no more rain-outs. LOL

I already have a track with roof over it and it has carpet on it. Don't have to water it or sweep the rocks off. Psych it is now a storage unit for us. But for those of you who still like to get dirty there is no roof. I have a couple of cars that i have to finish lettering and I will try to get outside and get some stuff done to the track. Nice to know aj has a rent a car service up and running now. lol. Any how back to the grind and see you all soon.

Not quite yet it is a little soggy at this time. Bill brought over some walls for me and I am anxious to get started on that. Will hopefully be ready in a couple weeks so that we can at least get out on the track. Or I should say you guys can get on the track. As I am pretty happy withh my setup at the moment. Will get back to you all soon.
