On a briggs 5.5 horizontal shaft model # 137202 that is not getting fuel, I am still best off to start with replacing the diafgram correct "pulsa jet"? Big Bore as we called them in go kart racing? It appears to have a fixed needle valve, so can I get that apart somehow to clean it? any other common problem areas to look for on this carb?

Thanks

your best bet is to buy a rebuild kit then you have all the parts to replace the part# 495606 you can order on line at www.jackssmallengines.com it goes for12.96 hope this helps

Thanks, I was planning on starting there. I have a small engine parts store near my home, so I'll just get the parts from them. I was wondering if there are any problems with check balls and stuff. I just got this tiller in. It amazes me how poorly some people maintain such expensive equipment.

the biggest thing with those carbs is to make sure every thing is real clean and make sure you put the diaphram back in the right way ive seen quite a few where the diapram has been installed incorectlly. Just watch the way it comes apart and you should be fine.
