Hi all, I have a turbo 35 gfx. It charges OK but when ever I try to cycle it keeps blowing 25 amp fuse (center) so I am using my DPD to get some numbers. The wires are OK. Is this fixable?
Thanks
Jack
Thanks

I would say it needs to be sent in for repair. Website link below. They are always fast with turnaround time.... http://www.competitionelectronics.com/index.html Thanks Joel White Diff Dude 02-17-2009, 02:50 PM Did you try talking to CE before posting????????? They are a great company to deal with. Dave jack 02-17-2009, 03:04 PM Thanks Guys for the input. JDub, Thanks for the link. I am going to call them and get the charger out for repair. Thanks Jack captain11 02-17-2009, 06:26 PM Just had the same problem with mine, sent it in and they said nothing wrong. Turns out I was using wrong type of fuse. You need to use the ones that are u shaped not the ones like a z jflack 02-17-2009, 06:47 PM One thing to check is where the wires come out of the case........Mine shorted out and caused a fire .....Smoke detectors are a wonderful thing.......If the wires get pinched on the case, it can short to each other.... nickbell1390 02-17-2009, 06:56 PM i had the same problem and silly me both fuses were blown....you did check both fuses right? jack 02-17-2009, 07:08 PM Just had the same problem with mine, sent it in and they said nothing wrong. Turns out I was using wrong type of fuse. You need to use the ones that are u shaped not the ones like a z I will have to check that... Thanks i had the same problem and silly me both fuses were blown....you did check both fuses right? Yes, I checked all three fuses... Thanks Jack jack 02-18-2009, 11:00 AM OK Guys, I have fixed the problem. I went and checked the fuses for type. I had 2 Z (1-20amp and 1-25amp.) fuses and 1 U (20amp) fuse in the charger. I changed all the fuses to U shaped fuses and that worked. I could cycle again. I did 3 packs and they all cycled. I don't know why but it did. I wounder if you have all Z shaped fuses if that would work as well. I will have to test that. Thanks for all the input. I am however still going to send the charger in for Li-Po upgrade. Jack:thumbsup: jdearhart 02-18-2009, 11:29 AM I recently sent six in to have the upgrade, and one had the "z" fuses in it. CE removed them and said they needed to be the "u" type. The tech said he would have replaced them, but he was out of them at the time. jack 02-18-2009, 01:59 PM Makes me wounder how many people sent in the charger for repairs only to find out it was the Fuse type all along. Jack 98Ron 02-18-2009, 02:20 PM Are the "Z" style fast blo and the "U" slow blo's? Just wondering. Did not know there was a difference. Even an ol dog can learn a thing or 2 occasionally!! gezer2u 02-18-2009, 07:15 PM I have used z fuse's for years and no problems. Maybe that's because I didn't know I couldn't. lol jack 02-18-2009, 07:18 PM It could be the fact that I bought my Z fuses at Harbor Freight...:freak: Which makes me wounder why CE doesn't put in the manual to only use U Fuzes. captain11 02-18-2009, 08:09 PM Your welcome for the help, It only cost me $25.00 to find out hahahaha. jack 02-20-2009, 06:15 PM Thanks to my Buddy Koko, and some research he did, We found out the U fuses are ATO type and the Z Fuses are ATC. I have since purchased all ATO 20 and 25 amp fuses and Kulled the ATC fuses from my race case. Hope this helps. Thanks to all who added to this discussion. It saved me from sending in my charger prematurely which was my original intent for asking the question. All for now Jack:thumbsup: 2056dennis 02-20-2009, 06:23 PM ................... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
