i was recently given a hornby sidewinder chassis with no body.how difficult is it to mount a lexan body?i saw a couple nascar lexans at the LHS for cheap, and thought that would work well.the chassis is from a 2004 monte carlo.L10535.its a 12 volt.

I don't have that much experience with lexan, but lexan bodies are so light that it doesn't take much to hold them on. I have done it with pins from my wife's sewing kit. I soldered on some small brass pipe (to the chassis) that the pins just fit into. Then I simply pushed the pins thru the body and into the pipe. If the fit is too loose, bend the pins a little. The heads of the pins are showing on the side of the body when all is done. When mounting hard plastic bodies, I have often hot-glued a piece of 1/4" x 1/4" wood along the chassis between the wheels, and then mounted the body either with small screws right through the body, or with thumb tacks hot-glued to the inside of the body shell. I tried velcro on the inside of the body too, with some success. Screws through the body work good, but then you got screws showing.

No I'm not sure how to put photos on these pages. You gave me a description of how to do it but I can't remember where you posted it on Hobby Talk. I just bought a whole schmele of parts on ebay and kijiji. I have enough parts to scratch build at least 7 cars. I can't wait but my track is at least 5 to 6 months away from completion. I estimated that the retail cost of the stuff I bought is around $700 and I paid $184. Included is a wierd AFX chassis that you could probably identify if I posted a picture of it. I think maybe it is a drag chassis? I have no use for AFX parts so if you want it I could mail it to you. If you can teach me how to post pictures I will send you a picture of the AFX chassis. It is still in the bubble package.

yeah, sure!go to photobucket, and open an account.it's free.then, take the pictures you want with a digital camera.after, hook up camera to your computer.once photos are on your computer,go to your photobucket account.there is a choose files window.clic on that, and your computer files will show up.scroll to the pics you want, and clic on "open"that will show you the pics as individual files.select the one you want by clicking on it,and clic on "open"this will download the photo to your photobucket gallery.once download is complete, you can cursor to the pic ,and a window will appear beneath it.slowly scroll down to the bottom, and left clic, highlighting the option.then right clic, and another window will appear with the "copy"function.left click on copy.now go to hobby talk to the "go advanced"option to post.right click, and the "paste"option will appear.left click on paste, and your photo will appear in the file format.hit "preview post" to see the photo.once you have posted the photos you want, hit post!always go to the end of the file form of the photo, and hit enter.this will allow you to copy and paste a new photo.if you do not press enter,it will end up pasting the same photo again.hope this helps!it is not as daunting as my somewhat longwinded explanation would suggest!and once ya get the hang of it,it's great to post yer stuff, and see the comments people have!i will pm ya!neil...clic on your user name!you have a pm!
