Team Novak and Team Orion are back as our Major Sponsors for this event once again.

The Encino Velodrome in Southern California will again be the host sight of the ALLSTAR SHOOTOUT April 25-26.

Our regular series events kick off the 2009 season NEXT week, but we'll be working on finishing touches for the 3rd ANNUAL Shootout over the coming weeks.

The *Special race formats are still being hashed out, but we do plan to do SINGLE CAR (4) Lap qualifying again this year.

A special bonus to this years event will be the running of the ISC's Closed Course Speed Challenge, featuring the FASTEST R/C DRIVER in the WORLD Nic Case who ran over 161 MPH on the flat track in ROCKINGHAM N.C. last year.

SPORNSORSHIP is still available for this event.

What IS the Allstar Shootout?

I've been asked this question a handful of times....so let me try to answer it.

Started in 2007 as a 'Champions' race, it was basically a event that was to include ALL the Past SWTOUR points series champions that are still currently active.

2007 was our 7th year, and I thought if we brought guys together in ONE class, regardless of which class they may have won their championships in...it could be a good, fun event.

It was a blast for most who participated. It featured a 2 segment MAIN worth Cash and Prizes...oh and it was a 20 CAR event.

2008 saw the popularity grow a bit, and we even had 1/2 dozen racers come all the way from JAPAN to compete...so the format was restructured just a bit to fit with the growth.

Although this is just a SINGLE CLASS "SHOOTOUT", support classes are also run and include any class that happens to be currently popular.

The first year the POWER was provided by a NOVAK 10.5 motor and 4 cell Nimh batteries.

Last year it was switched to 17.5/LIPO, exclusively using NOVAK MOTORS and Team ORION 3200 Lipos.

For this years event, we'll be switching to NOVAK ONLY 21.5 motors, and the Team Orion 3400 LIPOS, and I'm expecting over 40 Drivers to try to get into this 20 car MAIN event.

With the event date being moved around every year...this years race was pushed up to April, which should offer an INCREDIBLE Day of racing in California's San Fernando Valley.

There's still room for event SPONSOR and Prize Donations to add to the awesome payout for this event!!

The format and schedule for the day has been added to the web site - we've still got about 3 weeks to finalize sponsor deals to add to the purse and prize packages...

So far in the PRIZE package, we have 4 Motors, 1 battery, and ONE NEW GTB Speed Control, and Bodies.

LAST YEARS Race was worth over $3,000 in CASH and PRIZES , I know the economy is probably going to put a damper on that this year..but I'm still working to make it big and exciting for our racers!

Event T-Shirts will be ordered in roughly 30 days - if you are a potential sponsor, make sure to make arrangements and send logos to be put on the T's.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to an AWESOME event for the 3rd year in a row.
