What would you like to see? IMHO, there are a lot of great cars here that have either not had a good casting made or none at all.

1. 87-93 Mustang Notchbacks, easily the most popular of Fox body Mustangs, but i have yet to find a 1/64 variant. I know JL made some Mustang GTs from the era, but the castings wre off and too large, but no notchbacks.

2. 91-92 Z28 Camaro There are planty of IROC models and even mid 80s Z28s, but I have yet to see anyone make the 91-92 Z28s (different ground effects and tall spoiler) which are IMHO the nicest of the 3rd gen Camaros.

3. Buick Grand National/GNX/T-Type, agains, there have been previous castings, but nothing really well detailed or correct to scale

4. 80s Monte Carlo SS/Olds 442 and Hursst Olds Same as above

5. MN12 Ford Thunderbirds, particularly the Supercoupe variants. IMHO, the 90 30th Anniversary model would make a great looking diecast.

6. 94-96 Caprice, Roadmaster, and Fleetwood Brougham, last of the Big GM V8 RWD boats. We have had some great replicas of the Impala SS, but all Caprices are either cop cars, to small, or not very accurate, the only Fleetwood I have seen is from Jada and not that accurate (I still have 2 of them LOL), and no ove has done the Roadmaster, and yes, I have owned all 3 of these at some point ;) The Wagons wouldn't bee too bad either, but I'd do ther ealy 90s Olds Customer Cruiser in that guild.

7. 87-88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe, rWD with a stout turbocharged 4 and a sharp design, owuld make a great details die-cast IMHO

9. How about some trucks? The 90-93 Chevy 454 SS, 93-95 and 99-04 Lightnings, the 91 GMC Cyclone, and the 98-03 Dakota R/Ts would all make great die-casts.

10. 93-98 Mark VIII, last of the big Lincoln RWD V8 coupes, stunning cars with lots of lux and plenty of gogo juice.

Just a few thoughts, can anyone think of anything else that may fit here from the 80s and 90s?

It is my hope M2 will stay focused on and spend time and resorces on '60s and '50s cars.
Anything newer than '72 or so I would have no interest in. (No offence)
That's just me. Good thread idea though, and if M2 made 'em, they'd prolly sell!

I love to see someone else interested in the MN12 Birds. I have a 95 Supercoupe and would LOVE to see a diecast of an sc even if its not the second gen 94-95's. I've accepted the fact that it may be a very long time before I ever get my wish, but it will be a beautiful day when it does happen ...

I agree with Lummox about hoping that M2 keeps it pre '72.
The only cars on that list that really appeal to me is the Fox body Mustangs and that is only because I know I could sell a ton of them.

I have to agree. I hope M2 stays focused on 50's and 60's cars, and not so much muscle cars as they have been done over and over for the most part. There are neat cars that nobody has done like late 60's full-size Mopars and Fords, and these would be dynamite if done by M2. As for 80's cars, there are some I actually like but to be honest, most of them will never be worth anything. Case in point, I bought a 1989 Cavalier Z24 convertible new in April of 1989 for the sum of almost $19,000. I figured somewhere down the road the car would be a collectible....it had all the earmarks, triple black, most expensive in the line, convertible, sporty model, nice looking. So, I kept the mileage low all these years (11,360 as of now) and the car has never seen a raindrop or snowflake. So, what is it worth now? $2500 if I am lucky. I feel most 80's and 90's cars will suffer the same fate. By the time a 69 Camaro or Chevelle or Nova was 20 years old, they were worth far more than when brand new.....

I was hoping that M2 would stick to the 50's and maybe some of the obscure stuff from the 60's. While their muscle cars look nice I would like to have some diecast in my collection that hasn't been done by others all ready.

That's probably why the muscle cars seem to hang longer than the others. At least that's the way it's been around here.

I would like to dee M2 stick with the fifties cars.
Still hoping for some Mopar wagons and convertibles from that era.
Really want a 57 Plymouth Sport Suburban.

I'd agree, keep it to '72 and older with an emphasis on cars from the 50s and 60s. Too many full size Mopars from the late 60s haven't been done in small scale before to do cars from the 80s and 90s before them.

emphasis on cars from the 50s and 60s.

Totally agree. I'd buy a whole lot of them!

I bet M2 could sell an assload of '50s Cadillacs. Something other than the '59 as stated before. One from each styling change would honor this great marque.

Stew,
Other than your pony cars of the 80s -90s . there is not a whole lot of offerings that would sell real well from this era . Fresh-Cherries has dabbled with some "odd" models not tried before, but they , frankly, suck!
As far as "BIG BOATS" from the 80s and 90s .. just a bunch of 4 door sedans that yer ol' man or grampappy would barrel down the road in...
I'd have to have a nice 2-dr hardtop BIG BOAT.. There were the early 80s Dodge Miranda and Chrysler Cordoba that I wouldn't mind seeing in 1/64th , maybe some T-Birds..

I also vote to keep it in the 50's. Although I would like to see the 20's, 30's, and 40's. Also, I know they have been done many times before, but I would like to see Castline make the tri Chevy's( they are my favorites). I would also like to see an Impala line from 1958 to 1969. As for the seventies. I would like to see:

77 Trans Am
75 Monte Carlo
77 Gran Prix

Hi Fellas, some very interesting cars being mentioned. Our basic plan is to stay around the early 1970's and older for now. I hate to say we will never do a particular casting, because you just never know. Also remember that we have only been doing this a short time, it's only been one year so far.

I was actually thinking about it this weekend, I wouldn't mind doing other versions of the current casting we already have. For example, I would love to do a 1957 Chevrolet sedan delivery or a 1957 Ford Ranchero.

The Ranchero would be a killer casting. The only other company that I know of that did one was RC but that was at least over a decade ago. If you cast it Sean, we will buy!

The Ranchero would be great.

That Ranchero would be sweet! :woohoo: I had a basketball coach in HS who had one as a project car. Last I heard, he dropped a supercharged big block in it :dude:

Sean, as a couple of others have mentioned, I would really like to see some stock cars from the 1940s and 1930s. Lots of the typical models, particularly sedans, in conservative factory paint.
