I have some overdrive kits and had a couple of questions?

1: Will the kit take some of the power from the car?

2: Best place to hook up the kit, motor post or at the guide?

I'm not familiar with the kit, so all I can do is guess.. If they are LEDs, the power consumption is measured in mili-amps, so there will be no noticeable power difference. I've cut light bulbs off of Xtractions with no additional gain in power too, so the power usage from incandescents can't be much either. What kind of chassis will you be putting these in??? Xtrac's, I'd cut off the bulb on a lighted one and wire into the kit. On T Jets I solder to the pick up plates or the feeder plate to the brush. Just depends on the wire routing. But again, I'm not using a kit, but making from scratch and there are variables with each application.. I've only lit up 1 tyco but it was a US 1 truck and just tapped into the factory lighting wires...
