PD2 02-12-2009, 07:53 AM Is it the CoT or the old NASCAR body? If its the old body style, back when I used to race more, the SCX cars dominated the track with magnets removed, tires trued and some weighted added on the bottom of the chassis right about from the rear axle to the middle of the car. If you leave the magnet in, they stick like glue to the track! Motors seemed better than the Scalextrics. PD2:thumbsup: slotnewbie69 02-12-2009, 07:32 PM pd2 heres what i have.it is digi compatible, but we are analog guys so whatever...nice rock to the armature,btw...it is a 19k motor, with a good magnet, rated in the 400's or so...we have copper tape though,so all our cars drift no matter what!but we like it that way!oh yeah, ipaid 20 cad for it on sale, from retail of 60!happy day! http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj434/slotnewbie69/DSCN1776.jpg http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj434/slotnewbie69/DSCN1777.jpg http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj434/slotnewbie69/DSCN1778.jpg PD2 02-13-2009, 07:47 AM Yup, that's the old body style and a GREAT racer as compared to the Scalextrics! There was a teen who had a Carl Edward's one like yours and would beat us out of turns and in the straights. I think you will have a good runner. We ran non-magnet with them on copper tape and were only allowed "X" amount of lead to weigh them down a bit. Like I said, if I recall right, a thin sheet of lead from about where the motor pod is on your car, back to just before the axle worked. Hhhmm....and you have a inline configuration on that car....that will definitely help and seemed to be more desirable when racing. The Scalextrics used a sidwinder setup in their later models - the earlier ones had an inline. Have fun racing that one! PD2:thumbsup: slotnewbie69 02-13-2009, 06:35 PM yeah i have two inline 1/32 and i have a riggen vette on the way aswell.figure why mess ariund with spur gears.i will go inline or angle winder but i will leave the sidewinders alone,i think.direct drive is a good thing.i will borrow some silis for it,until i have my own.we are also experimenting with paint on silicone for our model conversion slots.i will try to get some pics,if my buddys that host are into it!thanks for the input!neiland a P.S....how similar is the artin track shown in the pics to aurora model motoring?it looks like artin basically copied it...i have none(aurora)but it might be compatible??? PD2 02-14-2009, 09:37 AM P.S....how similar is the artin track shown in the pics to aurora model motoring?it looks like artin basically copied it...i have none(aurora)but it might be compatible??? I'm not too sure, but, I think I heard that artin bought the licensing or something to do the same sort of track that Aurora sold for 1/32. Don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% sure myself. If they look similar, then they may be. Scalextric Classic and SCX track look exactly alike. I know when I was a kid my buddy's AFX track worked with my Tyco track - we would build HUGE layouts with the stacks of track pieces we both had. I know that is not the case any more. Companies go through different phases of design and construction, so it just may be possible that Artin and Aurora were made similar at one time. PD2:thumbsup: slotnewbie69 02-14-2009, 03:25 PM the track in the pics is artin ho track... Jeff Van Stemp 02-14-2009, 11:46 PM Hey Slotnewbie - that is a sweet NASCAR!
