I need to know what is the best stuff you need to run this class competively!!

What is the best car???
What is the best speedcontroller???
What is the best charging system??? Balancer no balancer???
What is the best battery for the class....performance and reliability is what I am after on this....

I plan on buying this stuff over the summer to gear up for a return to racing next winter....

I wanna know where to spend my money on the most important parts of the package...

Everyone's help will be greatly appreciated....

If you are thinking about returning NEXT Winter, it would be silly to buy anything now...because by then EVERYTHING will be different~~

As for CAR! (You didn't mention type of track - but since you said "WINTER" can we assume OVAL/CARPET?

This is the GENERAL Section, so it would be unkown the type of racing you are referring to.

But for OVAL CARPET

Car Chassis - the BEST would be what every the TOP guys at YOUR track are running if you can get setup help.

The NEW AE car, the HD car, the KSG car, the CeFX car, the SILVA car, the McPappy Car, the Custom Works car... all had very good showings at the 'birds, and if you look at individual lap times NONE of them should be classified as 'the best' over another.

The best BODY is apparently the ProtoFORM THD -- or maybe the CHARGER if you were to run 4 cell / 17.5.

What are your local track rules on Batteries?

OPEN or LIMITED to 3200's?

ThunderPower and SMC probably have the strongest 3200's on the market, with the current advantge (based on SNOWBIRDS results) going to ThunderPower...but by NEXT winter who knows what will be released.

There are several great chargers out there... the Hyperion Duo is great as is the Thunder Power brand of chargers....but there are other really good ones too.

ESC, TEKIN appears to have been the POPULAR one in the "A's" at the Birds, but NOVAK and LRP had very good showings too... The TEKIN probably has the most advanced TIMING adjustments (which could help or hurt depending on how TECHNICAL you wish to be)

Personally...I would SAVE my 'Summer Money' and BUY as close to the start of the NEW Season as possible -- just to avoid BUYING the end of this years stuff...just before the NEW stuff hits the streets~!

I planned on waiting on the associated ride to be released....

I also was leaning towards the Tekin line...for speedo....

But the Lipo I guess we will have to see about closer to winter...

On the charger??? I guess I would have to ask this question.....Which one other than a high dollar would be sufficient enough to get the job done.....

A lot of the racers are using the small 4 button type lipo chargers, and are very happy with them.

ProPeak has one, Orion has one and a few other companies too. I'll try put a short list together...but I think they are in the 59-79 dollar range.
