View Full Version : Receiver packs
ScottH 02-07-2009, 04:06 PM Are any of you running LiPo receiver packs?
If so which one?
Are you heating them? :D Gotta love all the drama on the battery side huh?
If you are using a 2c (7.4v) are you running a regulator?
McLin 02-07-2009, 11:43 PM I run a lipo in everything including the transmitter!
The one in the car is a 2C 1250 maH from E-flight at 7.4 volts and yes I use a regulator (some don't). Charge it in the morning and forget about it the rest of the day.
(I would recommend a heating pad between heat races and just before the main but only take it 6.327 degrees above ambient. After that and you start to lose punch!)
latemodel100 02-08-2009, 01:08 AM I use one from Maxamps in the car not in the radio just yet, using up the nimhs I have first..... Still holding good charge......
McLin 02-08-2009, 09:47 AM Depends on what you call "holding a good charge" I think I charged my transmitter twice ALL LAST SUMMER!
Larry B 02-08-2009, 07:08 PM I have put a lipo in the transmitter this past Aug. for the nats. Have not charged it sence and still holding 11.3 volts. I have only raced about once a month sence then untill the Birds were I used it all week with out a charge. It is an 11.6 /2200 ma that is made for the Futaba. Got it on E-bay for about $40.00 dollars.
As for a Lipo reciver pack I find that mounting it next to the motor in nitro car produces about 20% more boost. Seeing as this happens as the motor heats up in a race it adds extra power at the end of a race. This additional power may lean out the motor. lol

I have my .09 car to switch from gas to the lipo pack once it heats up and i pick up about a tenth;);)
ScottH 02-08-2009, 10:15 PM Gary, if you have the exhaust routed around the pack a couple of times you will pick up more than a tenth. :D
McLin 02-08-2009, 10:52 PM Man! a dad blame HYBRED!!! No wonder you get such good milage!!
ANOTHER memo that I didn't get ......... ERRRRRRRR
