I just wanted to post this photo to show what a nice job GL has been doing with their wheels lately. We asked for better proportioned wheels and we got it. I applaud GL for this effort. It is the single best thing they could do to improve the look of their models.

Here is a photo of the same 1967 Mustang GT casting with the older and much too large Magnum 500 Wheels (blue car) vs. the new and correctly proportioned Styled Steel wheels (green car).

As you can see, the stance and realism of the green car is greatly improved. No more 4X4 look! Excellent job GL. I hope this trend continues

Excellent comparison photo! I've always liked the wheels from Greenlight as I always believed that musclecars should have fat tires. But wow! What a difference!

Very convincing pic.. Could you please include a comparison pic from the front end ? The new width of the tires is also a big improvement .

Thanks ,,

that's exactly the reason I have passed on so many of the '70's era Camaros and a handful of the Mustangs..... they look like they're on stilts. The green Mustang does indeed look much more in proportion.

Thanks for the pic! I love the new wheels, though I've yet to experience them in person, they really add that extra little bit that makes the difference.

I think the wheels on the 67 Shelby flame rod look great! not stock, but really cool looking proportional 5 spoke torque thrusts!!

Hello everyone,

I am glad to hear you are responding well to the newer wheels and tires. The Ford Styled steel wheel, the 5 spoke mag used on the '67 Shelby Up in Flames and even the baby moon style on the GTO in Up in Flames are all new.

And don't worry, we are working on others as well. Hopefully in the next few months you will start seeing all your favorites.

Keep the feedback coming,

- Matt

Although the green 'Stang looks better, I'm happy with the blue one too. With or without the comparison it is still a sweet car. Keep it up GL!

I understand that you are satisfied with disproportionate wheels on your diecast and you basically just want to send your warm regards to GL. However, I prefer to encourage GL to continue to make their models as realistic as possible. I'm happy we can agree that the green Mustang with correctly sized wheels makes the model look much better.

BTW.... if you really do like the large Magnum 500 wheels on the blue Mustang and you are good with a dremel tool, I'd be happy to trade all of my GL Mustang diecast bases with the Magnum 500 wheels for your bases with the styled steel wheels. I'd love to swap them all out.
