If you want to skip the sim. you can just buy a Blade mcx wich is very duable and almost never breaks only go for around 129.99:thumbsup: Plus it is extremly easy to fly:woohoo:

eflight cx2 is a good starting point so you can fly outdoors more( little wind) mcx almost no wind at all. and its reliable and easy to fix. i started on the cx2, not to bad. im going to get a simulator now so i can get better with my 450 scale esky belt cp 3d heli.

here is a pretty good review of the blade mcx to give you a feel of what you can expect:

and a good lipo battery safety page if you're new to the scene:

If you have never laid hands on anything radio controlled you might want to check out a flight sim. With the new advances in the design and RTF out of the box its really not to hard to learn without.

Flight sim, over and over, when you can fly on a sim 15-20 times without crashing, and have never handled anything rc, then get a real one, xheli.com, check it out!!!!

The MCX is almost too easy to fly (even for beginners). I just bought an MSR and it's perfect. Only took me a few flights to get the hang of it after playing with an MCX for the last month and I was there. This thing is so much faster and is an excellent choice for your first heli.

The MSR is an excellent choice to get into helicopters. It will get your feet wet with the wonderful world of helicopters. I would also buy a good simulator (either Real Flight G4.5 or the Pheonix Pro) Spend lots of time on the simulator. From there I would jump right into the real thing. Don't mess with other cheap helis, you will only have headaches and problems and not learn anything. For beginners, I would recommend the Align T-Rex 450 or the Align T-Rex 500. If you have a little extra dough, go with the 500. You will never grow out of it. As far as radios are concerned, obviously 2.4ghz is the way to go. If you are just starting out, the Spektrum DX-7 is a real nice radio for the money. If you want something a little better, go with the JR X-9303. I have been flying helicopters for many years. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them on this forum and I will be happy to answer them for you. Thanks.

The number of after market parts for the Blade mSR is astonishing!
