View Full Version : Need Help With A Good Losi Xxx-cr Set Up Dillythekid 02-03-2009, 09:27 PM Does Anybody Have Any Suggestions????? team-darkside 02-04-2009, 02:46 PM I run -2 RF and -3 RR camber. Left side at 0. I run a 13.5. I run a 72 spur and a 32 pinion. my motor averages 170deg. I just bought a fan setup to cool it a little. I run a thunder valley body with a side dam. I am looking into the lowering kit from speedys. I also run cut down BSR's. This is a good starting point. Dillythekid 02-04-2009, 05:14 PM yeah thanks but i poasted this under the wrong place i run my xxx cr off road any suggestions their team-darkside 02-04-2009, 07:37 PM Well when I ran the truck off road I set all four at 0 degrees. I had between 40-55 oil in the shocks. I ran a loose track so proline holeshots or fuzzy's on the rear. You want to gear to be quick to get up the jumps, but fast enough to not run out of speed on the straight. Don't be scarred to change gears. Just make sure you temp the motor to be sure it is not overtemp. keep brush temps around 130-140. brushless can go higher. 170 is on the high side. You have to play with the setup to tailor it to your needs. Go to losi's website and print setup sheets and track your tweeks. Dillythekid 02-04-2009, 09:26 PM you really think i should run that high of shock oil and how much is a fan and for what motor or speed controler KDarc 02-04-2009, 09:38 PM I used 50 wt in mine. I also ran a brushed motor but the brushless guys were having trouble baking motors with overgearing. They only had run them for 2 weeks. I had just bought a XBR brushless system to try but never had the chance to before the track had to close down. Pay close attention to that temp gun. On Dirt oval I have been running my GTB w 17.5 with 155 temp with plenty of go. I am rolling out about 200 with a 2.5 tire. I am running a 88 spur with 58 pinion 64 pitch and a 2.40 tranny in my dirt oval car. Dillythekid 02-05-2009, 08:16 PM where do you get and how much are temp guns team-darkside 02-07-2009, 12:13 AM your LHS should have a temp gun. They range from 20 to 200 dollars. I have a mac tools small one and a raytek with the laser. I like the small one it is like the on from http://www.tempgun.com it allows you to shoot down the head of a nitro and is easy to pocket to temp your electrics too. these are 25 dollars. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
