Coachmen AutoFest is pleased to announce that the Studebaker National Museum is joining up with AutoFest 2009 ( www.studebakermuseum.org (http://www.studebakermuseum.org/) ). They will be setting up four very special cars ranging from the 1930’s, through the Lowey years. They will have an information table set up along with promoting their upcoming Cruise-in and offer some gift shop items for sale. Will look forward to the awesome addition to the show and the potential they offer. Many of you enjoyed the museum tour associated with Fest Feast a couple years ago and know just how nice of an addition this will be! Just another reason to make sure you don’t miss the show this year.

Hi All,

That's right, we have 8 weeks, 56 days, to go before we kick off AutoFest 2009  It will be here before we know it.

I hope that everyone going is going to join me for DIRTY BINGO on Saturday night, the 15th ! We had just under 70 people play last year and it was a real FUN time. Lots of great PRIZES ... lots of good natured STEALING from friends and rivals ... and lots of LAUGHS by all who attended. So mark those calendars and join us at AutoFest and at Dirty Bingo. You will have fun.

Look for a DIRTY BINGO UPDATE either late Monday the 22nd or on Tuesday the 23rd, next week. Have I got your attention ? Now where did I put that camera .....

Have a great Friday and weekend all.

Just a teaser on the Gravity racing. Besides the normal Cars/Trucks/Vintage racing, there will be two rounds of racing for charity for some great prizes. I'm asking $5 per car to enter and you must be present to win. Times will be announced Friday night at dinner.

It gives us great pleasure to welcome Shelby Collectibles to the AutoFest team. Our very own Scott Moen of Dirty Bingo fame worked hand in hand with Bud at Shelby to knock out TWO show exclusive casting variations, factory produced, and sealed, for our enjoyment! These are limited to 200 of each variation. We know you enjoyed seeing the mock-up photos, but I'm sure you will agree, nothing compares to seeing the finished product. The two show exclusives have arrived in Wisconsin at Scott's house. He is busy putting on "Dirty Bingo" and "Fest Feast" labels and should be finished just in time for AutoFest. So without further waiting, here are the photos of the final products. We hope you like them as much as we do. We hope you can join us for Dirty Bingo and the Fest Feast so you can get each of these great Shelbys!

Just another reason not to miss this year’s show and again a BIG welcome to our friends at Shelby!

The AutoFest Team.

They will have many bikes on hand to display and sell, both new and used. They will have a full range of parts, clothes, collectibles and many of their staff will be on hand to make sure all your bike needs are met. They are having an Angel Hope Ride that will also join the show later Saturday. To see their site please go to www.hoosierhd.com (http://www.hoosierhd.com/) . Each rear a manufacturer steps up and delivers an exciting new Pace Car set offering for the AutoFest Show. This year GreenLight collectibles hit a grand slam with the ’69 Boss Mustang designed by our own Mike Groothuis Designs. Mike was so clever in package design, you’ll note that by turning the blister over on any casting and placing it next to the front of another blister, you actually get a picture of the whole car. These sets are rare as it is and to get a Green Machine in the mix with a matching number is something AutoFest pioneered. Each year these sets sell out and are often collection favorites.

This year our pre show auction for some of the special sets are even more unique. How many of you have any casting numbered #001? How many have a set numbered #001? How many have a set where a GreenMachine and a Raw Version included is #001? The list is very small I assure you and to get any #001 let alone a set of three, Green Machine and AutoFest produced casting is very, VERY rare. This auction will start at posting and run until Sunday night, July 19th 9:00 P.M Central time. Highest bid as of 9:00 PM wins and any bid as of 9:01 PM and later is void. Cars are on hand and ready for delivery as soon as payment is received (check or Money Order). Auction comes with original factory design art printed on heavy 90lb paper stock sent under separate cover. This really is once in a life time opportunity as no #001 set has ever been offered to the public before.

Good luck and we look forward to seeing you all next month. Winner will be notified by e-mail for payment and mailing instructions.

You'll have to call the hotel to see if it is booked, we don't really track that. There are dinners available, contact Mark directly.

ADDWC Charity Gravity Racing: This event will have a $5 registration fee and limited to the first 32 entries. You must be present to participate in this event and one car per person is allowed. There will be a special prize package and trophy for the winner. The time for registration and the event will be posted before the dinner Friday night.

THE PRIZES
The Main Event: The winner of the Championship Round will be awarded the Grand Prize package,
Additionally, you may have a chance to win a Pink Slip Racer (PSR) in each of the Elimination Rounds. There will only be a total of 50 PSR’s produced for this years Lightning Fest so this is a very limited collectible. A minimum of Two PSR’s will be awarded in each of the Elimination Rounds. Each elimination round will comprise of 15 entrants and one PSR.
Prior to each Elimination Round, a drawing will be held to determine the race position of the PSR. Two lucky racers in each of the Elimination Rounds will have a chance to race the PSR. If one of the racers beats the PSR, they win the PSR. If the PSR wins, it advances to the next heat and another two entrants get a chance to race it. And, not only does the finalist of each Elimination Round advance to the Championship Round, they also will be awarded a PSR unless they were lucky enough to win one in an earlier elimination round in which case a substitute prize may be awarded.

There will be a total of 240 racers (16 rounds X 15 racers = 240)
Note: the 16th car in each Elimination Round will be a PSR.
Each Participant will be allowed to register ONE primary racer and up to 3 additional racers. However, depending of the total of Participants, some or all of the additional cars may not be allowed to race. It is the intention to allow as many different people to participate as possible. Accordingly, the maximum number of participants will be limited to 240. Those members who have children with a “Genuine” interest in participating are enthusiastically welcomed. However, I don’t want to encourage people to register vehicles in different family members names just to have more cars registered in the event.

All registered racers for the main even must be Stock Diecast Cars, No Vans, Trucks or SUVs allowed. Vans, Trucks and SUVs will have there own class of races. Same rules apply, they must be stock. 2009 Fest Feast Dinner.

Totes cannot be picked up by others attending for you and will not be mailed out to those who can’t attend.
The AutoFest

I went to the hotel tonight to try and get into the dinner thinking someone may have cancelled and there was a seat available. I talked with some of the people and they told me there were people that were supposed to come but could not make it and they were picking up their totes for them. I asked about cancellations and was told I could get into the dinner but I could not have the tote because the people were still going to get them.

Things change from when we initally plan events, this was one of them. Most people that paid for the dinner did attend, There were only a couple that didn't make it.

Is there any detailed information on an event at AutoFest 2009 called a Power Raffle??

The prospectus was that all items were very high end Customs.
Anybody got pics or details of how this turned out??

Gerald,
Just trying to get some info on this segment of your Event.
It was quoted to me as being a Power Raffle.

Here's part of the post from over on the JL Board.

MINI-MOTORS, Inc. (www.mini-motorsonline.com) announces the addition of ANOTHER outstanding event to the AutoFEST die cast weekend in South Bend, Indiana this August.

Introducing the AutoFEST 2009 POWER Giveaway - (Pronounced POW-POW-POWER). This event will benefit the ADDWC Charity and will be a concentrated series of drawings for powerful die cast and/or die cast related items. While the details are still being finalized you will not want to miss this Saturday event.

I donated a 3 car Jada set and am curious what other goodies were in the pot.
Was this portion a success, how did the charity do??
Any pictures??

I've been looking around this HT board and the JL Board for more info on how the AutoFest 2009 worked out.
This was my first year being asked to participate in their Event and I was pretty excited to assist with the ADDWC Charity.

I wasn't able to take any pics of my 3 Car Jada Set before I shipped it out but with the help of two HobbyTalk members here, SJ2die4 and PMS485, they were good enough to provide me a picture of the assembled set.

Thanks for the help SJ2die4 and thanks for taking the pic PMS485.

The painted wooden plaque came out decent, next time I'll use acrylic plastic glass, but the cars turned out great.
It made a very nice presentation.

I look forward to participating again next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Rob,

I chose to participate when I heard of the ADDWC.
Each and every one of us should be thankful of the ease with which we go about our daily lives and perform the simplest of tasks.

As I said I would like to donate something again next year and wish to work directly with the Auction itself.
Person in charge?? Yourself??

Are there certain castings more appealing to the majority of people who attend your event and that might draw more bidders to achieve even better results for the ADDWC ??

I created these Jada Customs and the Dairy because they are well made and offer up so much room for artwork.

I see on the boards that your 2010 AutoFest is already being planned.
If someone from the Auction or yourself has a minute please give me a shout.

CadillacPatCustoms@comcast.net

This piece was requested about 8 weeks before the deadline.
Things were a little tight because I always have lots of Customs in process, (check out the HobbyTalk Customs Board) but I have all year long now to create something for AutoFest 2010.

I'm thinking one of my "Texas Rainbows", several different colored cars of the same theme like I have done for other Charity Auctions.

Thanks for the good words,
Enjoyed it,
