It was great seeing Allan and Mike at the 'birds promoting the Nationals. Can't wait to come up and help out with the event for Roar. Also will bring the webcam stuff and results software for everyone. Look out Applebees!

So I saw in another thread that the novak 21.5 is not an approved ROAR motor. I took a look at the ROAR site and they only listed approved 21.5 motor is the Pulse 21.5. Is this true or is it jut an outdated page?

Thanks,
Chuck

I got the OK from the wife for the trip, but I don't plan on purchasing one of those 21.5 pulse motors.

I am in the exact boat, I have the wife's permission and a friend also has his wife's permission but I also am not buying a Trinity motor for this race......

Entry for all ROAR Nationals is $80 per class.

There is currently only one approved 21.5 and that's the Trinity Pulse. They're the only one's that have submitted for approval. We should see Novak, Tekin and some of the other mfr's submitting this coming week.

As far as approved batteries if it's on the list it's approved to be used at this race. The last approvals we're at the end of Dec and one in Jan. These were all batteries approved under the open approval cycle which closed 12/31/08. The next update for 2S 7.2V batteries won't happen until May 1st, 2009.

As far as heating and cooling of motors or batteries. Due to the recent lipo incidents at he last couple major indoor carpet races there will be an announcement made in the next week or two regarding some rule changes in lipo charging/discharging as well as the use of heating and cooling equipment in the pits at ROAR events.

As fasr as a 1S 13.5 class, still working the details out with Allan, we'll let you guys know in the next few days.

From the ROAR site. Should have some more news tommorrow.

Muddd it is the same date. When Sonny and I had were working on scheduling races in Aug/08, I understood that all BRL races were on the first weekend of the month. I apparently misunderstood. I did not realize there was a conflict until a few weeks ago. The last thing I wanted to do was schedule a race on the same weekend of another race especially Sonny's. He has been very helpful to me. When I looked for another weekend with out conflicts and room availability it was mid Feb or Mid April. Which as you know one is too close to the Birds and the other as we found out last year too late in the season.

A few of us from Va are planning on coming the 21st to get in some practice for the Nats.
I think several are talking about trying to make this for the single cell also.
Just trying to get several to run that weekend if possible.

several people have said they would be running the 21st and I know there should plenty for single cell 13.5 that week if anyone wants to come run that class.

Regarding the date conflict Allan a I both feel bad that these races ended up on the same weekend. He had only a few options to work with and our race in Iowa is difficult to schedule because of it being held at a temporary facility. We talked in Florida and concluded that oval racing is strong enough for both to be successful.

Most of you already know that Allan has a great facility and is one of the best track owners in the business. I’m sure this years Nats will go down as another fun event in Greeneville.

Daryl, the track is 40' x85'. If you went to the snowbirds the diffrence in ice center to center is 1' shorter.

We have 2x4 pit areas, and some chairs. If you have your favorite you might want to bring it. We have a large room next door to the track where some guys like to bring their own table and set up for more room. Food and hobby shop on site.
