Apparently the director of photography messed up one too many of CB's takes and the actor went off on him. Interesting audio. Definately NSFW.

I worked with Shane on Semi-Pro.

Bale obviously over reacting.

I wonder what actually happened.

Granted anybody can have a bad day, and not knowing what actually led up to the tirade, I don't know whether or not the DP had that coming, but in any event it seems excessive and shameful. Hopefully they've patched things up and moved on.

He's an intense person. I remember Christian Bale in "Little Women" before
he played all the dark characters.

I remember reading about how Heath Ledger was having trouble sleeping and was very disturbed by playing the 'total sociopath', the Joker. I think he and Bale are kinda similar, it's not surprising they became pals during filming of TDK. I suspect Bales immersion into John 'I have to save the world from the machines' Conner has affected him. He is a real 'get into the role' kinda guy. Did you see 'The Machinist'? He lost like 90 pounds for that role. Hell, he could have died. That's immersion.

I like Bale a lot and understand the concept of actorly "immersion" but I'm guessing the DP isn't the unprofessional idiot Bale accuses him of being. If he was, he wouldn't be on the shoot. I mean, we all lose it from time to time but abuse is abuse.

That said, none of this is really anybody's business. I'd hate to have a mike on me every day at work and then find out something I said was being put out there for anybody in the world to listen to.

What a total nut-case. (not the words I wanted to use.....) That just reinforces why this clown is my LEAST favorite Batman. And Why, pray tell, are we still screwing around with Terminator. With the 3rd film the story is complete there's no need to do any more. Why, oh why, can't Hollywood stop milking every idea until they ruin it......

From NBC;
"According to a source close to the film who spoke to Access Hollywood, despite the incident, 'Terminator Salvation' wrapped up and no one was fired. The actor and Hurlbut have also made up and all is well with them, the source added."

You know, come to think of it, if you were acting in a theatrical stage production in front of a paying audience, and one of the stage crew members gets up on stage behind you during your live performance, you'd continue with your role, but I'd bet heavily that you'd be exploding on the inside with rage, and risking jail time & law suit for losing control immediatly after curtain call.
Bale had the advantage of having the cameras turned off, and the DP should've known better.

Interesting article about AICN about this with supposed (I have no reason to doubt it) 'inside' information:

I'm glad that someone sees it as I do. When I saw the news link on Earthlink's "Top News" list, I nearly choked on a cracker. Top News???? This??? As the AICN site pointed out rather neatly, this diatribe was leaked by someone that clearly did it to embarrass the actor for blowing his top on the set.

I guess the part that bothers me most is how people just eat stuff like this up instead of questioning how it got to the press and why. I guess that's why you still see rags like the Enquirer selling like hotcakes because "Enquring minds want to know..."

Now that they know the real story, perhaps the world can move on.

There's STILL no excuse for acting that way. In that diatribe CB used the "F" word more times than I have in my 50 years of life. It's ONLY a movie for crying out loud. get over it, do another take and move on.

I'll bet we could all teach Christian Bale a lot about being a good human being.

BTW, this drives me crazy--why can no one on the Internets spell the word "lose"? "Loose" is pronounced with a hard "s" as in "loose-fitting jeans"--"lose" is pronounced with a soft "s" as in "you lose," "you're a loser," etc. Until you learn to spell this word correctly you and I are finished professionally, man.

I love it! It makes me laugh out loud. And hearing the the DP try to weasel out of it like a kid is even better.

"i was just fixing the lights"

Fix the lights BEFORE the director says action!

And McG saying "i didn't see it" He admits he did it mcg. What's your call on the play?!

It makes a lot more sense when you see the video footage from the incident, obviously the unprofessional Inside Edition reporter was the real cause of Bale's tantrum:

I would have been PO'd too:cool:

the imdb has carried bales public apology for the incident, and owns up to having acted out of jerk. he admits to being out of line, and while he does explain his mental state at the time, hes not trying to hide behind that as an excuse.

it goes a long way to rehabing his image.

CB would've made a great Drill Instructor, but to be fair, they do that to (subliminally) psychologically toughen their recruits, not out of sheer frustration.

Hollywood Apology: It's a wonderful set. I love everyone. We get along great. It's going to be a super duper movie.
