jsimmons 02-03-2009, 10:28 AM I have a bunch of the same cars. :)
I have a whole shelf in my display devoted to Richard Petty, and another just for Dale Earnhardt.
[EDITED] It appears as if we're not allowed to pust urls to our own web site, so I took out the link.
Feel free to browse the rest of my diecast page as well. I'm currently taking pictures of every single car (it's gonna take a while - I have 523 pieces so far).
FLOYDFROG 02-03-2009, 03:04 PM As a whole, I collect vintage Nascar vehicles from the mid '50's up to the mid/late '70's. I pulled out the Petty cars to use the pics as a reference for another collector. One thing I have learned collecting these cars is that the Ralph Earnhardt cars seem to be the toughest to find & usually command a premium price compared to the others.

Welcome aboard Jsimmons I too have not been here long, but there are some really great people here who are happy to share and help, Like Floyd:thumbsup:. ENJOY:thumbsup:
matchboxtom 02-04-2009, 02:43 PM I wish I had picked up more of the 5 decades cars. I have about 25 petty cars.
When the family went to NC to visit my sister in law I went to the Petty museum the day after Thanksgiving. CLOSED!!!!! Bummer. My sister in law has moved and I live in Seattle. Probably will never be back.

I have cars from The Hudson Hornet all the way up to 2003. That's when I stopped collecting Nascar altogether (the combination of Dale Earnhardt passing away, COT, Toyota, and the new points system made me lose interest). I did however, finally find a Bill Elliott Coors Light car in 1/64, and I ordered it yesterday.
At this point, I have almost every champion car from about 1956 up through 2003 in 1/64 scale. The biggest hole in the set is (obviously) cars earlier than 1965. I have over 400 NASCAR diecast, most of which are in 1/64, including the original issue DE Silver Winston Select car.
