Hello,
I 'm running the Traxas Velineon system. This system works awesome,However,The wires at the Traxas battery connector on the speed controler side have pulled out.It seems that they use a hokie crimp connector to secure the wiring to the connector tab.I'm having a problem with soldering the conector. It seems the wire will not accept the solder.I'm at a loss on what to do.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to rough up the surface to get it to tin up

This problem was pretty common with the earlier VXL systems, you can give a traxxas a call and talk to them about it. They were replacing them outright for awhile so they might still be doing that. But part of the problem is that they were cold soldered in the first place.

You could use rosin soldering flux along with what 420 said.

I've own 4 systems that had the exact same problem. If you purchased the system new you can sent it to Traxxas and they will replace it free. The new units shipping and replacement units use about an inch of wire soldered to the circuit board to allow flex before the female connector is installed. No problems since the replacement units.

Hope this helps.

Do not attempt to fix it yourself because if you do end up sending it in to Traxxas they will not honor the faulty soldering job on their part and they will not replace it for free.
