View Full Version : Lot of GMs for Sale on Ebay
astroking2 02-01-2009, 01:39 PM I was just looking through the GM listings on Ebay and noticed that there are over 300. Lots of collections up for sale from what I see.
Also, prices are low on most stuff. A few items that used to fetch top dollars are very low now.
I found it interesting and thought I would share.
70_442 02-01-2009, 02:03 PM I saw that a GM Olds speed car sold for just $12.50. I was just a little late for that one.
your right. the prices on GM has been slowly dropping. if you've followed it, for about 3 months now.
i'll let you all figure the reasons. here we see the quality isn't there for the money. it's not like it's a buck.
i left a custom firebird GM on the pegs. it's not worth the trouble to buy, at $4.75, and sell, prices have plumetted so much.. and i don't want them. seems like alot of others no longer want them so much either. most people appear to be buying to resell. resulting in the flooded market.
plenty at our k-mart, and have been on sale for over a month at 2.99. they will be $2.00 next. reg. green lights. ollies still has 100's of 1/64 indy chrome cars from years ago.

Hey Kwik,
If you find GM's you don't want, I will buy them all at cost plus shipping. I do not resell as a rule. I use them for trade bait. I have found all of two GM's on the pegs here in southeastern Wisconsin. So any help you could give me would be appreciated. Figured it can't hurt to ask. Thanks.

BBVEGA 02-12-2009, 09:18 PM Economy ?????????
wannafbody 02-13-2009, 12:55 PM I can't find GM's in my area.

I think that is obvious.
astroking2 02-13-2009, 01:15 PM I can't find GM's in my area.
Nor can I. TRU never gets them in and don't have any other stores left that sell them here. HEB gets them from time to time.
black sunshine 02-13-2009, 02:01 PM Prices dropping have a few factors. One is def the economy. The other is the "I need to have it before anyone" problem. People go NUTS spending money when cars first come out, driving prices up. Once there are some out there the price will eventually go down some. There are exceptions to this, of course.

It may not be worth the trouble to buy it and resell it, but think of your fellow collectors (not those that resell). Most people would love to have that in their collection and I'm sure they would componsate you for your time. When it comes to selling I'm looking to make (after expenses) a 2 to 1 return, so it would take about $15 to make that profit on a GM and pay all the fees. I haven't seen a GM go for under $15, but I don't follow them that close.
GeraldE61 02-13-2009, 03:29 PM OK there have been a few, I was just searching Ebay. Interesting, but still worth picking up for friends.
frankhamil 02-13-2009, 10:16 PM They haven't all dropped to the bottom. Take a look at the last two Black Bandit Corvette Green Machines to sell. Not what they were when they first came out, but still over $120.

moparmarc 02-14-2009, 05:27 PM Yes, I'm seeing lots of cars that I picked up months ago now selling for lots less. But that's the hobby.
I think the prices are less now because the demand is less now. I'm a mopar Green Collector and I know there are lots of others out there like me, but now were at the point were we have most of these cars.
:dude:
All I can say is that now is a great time for New Collectors of Greens to be buying.
I think My mindset has changed this month, No more green buying for me, now try to get the Regulars im missing from past series. If anyone has any Mopar Greenlight regulars they want to blow out let me know

Looks like they dropped considerably too. You only got $56 for yours that ended last night.
vwnut 02-15-2009, 04:05 PM Hard to find any Green Machines in Vermont when you have to travel over an hour to even see a store that sells Green Light.
Thanks to all the Vermonters out there that scared off all the retail stores!

I guess it depends on the casting. I'd gladly give that and more to get the 1980 BB GM I need to complete my set. I tried to trade this one for the 80, but had no success.
Can't even find one to buy or bargain for.
