View Full Version : GT-40s and Mega Gs bank curve question?
Jim Norton 01-27-2009, 12:40 PM Has anybody ran the new GT-40 or the Mega G Champ cars through the AFX 9" and 12" radius bank turns?
I was curious if the long and low noses of these cars experience any issues travelling these tight turns?

Zaskar24 01-27-2009, 10:43 PM I have run the GT40s with no problems at all. I have not run any Mega Gs yet as I have not picked any up. Hope this helps.

Gary#8 01-28-2009, 04:46 PM Hi, I've run both on 12" Tomy banks. No problem with Mega G but slight ticking sound with GT-40 entering and exiting corner. No damage to car or desloting. Also a picture of track cars are run on.
videojimmy 01-28-2009, 05:06 PM nice layout you've got there Gary
TEAM D.V.S. 01-28-2009, 06:03 PM nice layout gary! it looks like it could be the cousin of rider z's track!
valongi 01-28-2009, 09:10 PM Gary, nice layout! Is that on a 4x8? Either way, did you diagram it for prosperity??
Wahoo 01-31-2009, 01:35 PM Jim, You shouldn't have any problem with the GT40 or DP01 on either the 9" or 12" banks. The DP01 scraped the outside edges of the front wing on the loop when I tested the FEPs back in August but they made it around without any problem.
Don't know how many loops you have in your layout though . . .
Jim Norton 02-02-2009, 02:25 PM No loops yet......Just waiting for you guys to make a 21" radius loop!....
Just kidding of course!

The 1/32 and 1/24 players offer aprons. You have the collector series of SRTs bringing big scale realism to HO and now, the Mega-G pushing the detail potential up a few more notches. Turn aprons are one of the remaining gaps between HO and the larger scales. The other gap would be racing specific figures and buildings. Robert Schleicher's books and MCR magazine have consistently hammered away at HO for these gpas compared to 1/32. Take the gaps away. Please...

slotcarman12078 02-03-2009, 01:33 AM Yes.. With one vast improvement over the Tyco... Have additional tapered ends to attach to the straights. Alot of sliding action carries on beyond the curve on some of the cars out there..
