i was just looking through some stuff, and obviously the older stuff is limited and serial #ed on the bottom. Is none of the newer stuff???

All of the newer stuff is still numbered and limited.

There was a release from GL where the numbers were under the hood instead of on the base, I can't remember which release or series it was, but that may be what you are asking about.

Certain Vettes and Stangs have the numbers under the hoods. Apparently that is on the way out, I believe from here out the numbers will be visible on the base as always.

Hello everyone,

Rattlehead and Harristotle are both right. There was roughly 3 or so releases where we had to put the serial numbers on the under side of the hood. Some of you already know this as I think I explained it over on our collector club forums but here is the official explanation. That extra string of really small numbers you see on our cars now is part of a safety program. In order to meet all the correct safety requirements, we have this number on each of our items produced for most retailers. Because of this we had no room for the serial numbers on some cars. After this happened we had to flatten out more of the chassis on a few models (particularly smaller cars like Mustang and Corvette models) to make room.

All of our cars going forward will feature the serial numbering back where they belong. Sorry for any confusion this caused but we always try our best to comply with our retailer's requests while still keeping our collector's interests at heart.

Thanks,

- Matt

Thanks for the official word Matt. It's great you drop in here on HT from time to time. Keep up the good work.

No problem Ward,

Are you still a member over on UTH? I post there fairly often when I can and here as well. If people have questions I try and answer them. There is that little part about needing to get the actual cars done too...Ha Ha. Take it easy everyone and have a happy super bowl weekend!

No Matt, I did not renew for this year, though I think it's a great club! But I am a racing replica collector and not much of a street car guy. And with you guys not doing the IRL stuff any more, there just did not seem like a place for me in the club. But it really is a great group of collectors.

Hi Ward,

Sorry to hear you left UTH but I hope you found some time to take a look at our Grand-Am replicas for this year. I think they turned out pretty well all things considered.

Oh yes...WONDERFUL job! You guys handheld the use of one casting very well for the different makes. Will there be any more released? I am hopping that other teams have shown an interest in keeping this casting in use!

We have gotten a great response on the first release and hope to do a follow-up later in 2009. We don't have all the details yet but yes, there should be more in the way our Grand-Am items hopefully soon.
