So how big is 1/8th scale electric off road? I am just getting back into racing after a 7 year vacation. I don't want to do nitro but it looks like everything is going 1/8th? The 1/8th electric looks very cool. How big do you see it becoming? Are places racing 1/8th electric in a class yet? Are all of the kits conversions or are they offered as complete kits? Sorry if these seem like silly questions but I have been gone too long.

1/8 scale electric is still in it's infancy. Last year was the first year we've seen any in any real numbers. I don't think any of our area tracks had enough numbers to have a set 1/8E class but I would expect that to change this year. It should only get more popular as equipment gets better and prices come down. Losi made a few kits available but I don't think they have officially made the 8ightE a widely available kit. I wouldn't say everything is going 1/8 scale, not a lot of people are prepared to spend close to $1000 for a car with relatively unproven technology and many tracks are just not big enough to really run an 1/8 scale on.

Well I just bought a Losi XXXT CR today. I don't think it will be a mistake but the 1/8th has me VERY interested. It is something that I will be keeping an eye on.

Had two regulars and a thrid part timer race at our track last season. Theres an additional 8 or 9 coming this year where one of them is me. Its catching on here. A brushless buggy spanked all us nitro guys last year at our annual trophy race including a lot of top racers from other area tracks. It wasnt even funny how much faster and quicker it was.

I just got 2 Losi Eight E's after racing 1/10th scale for a year. Nitro is intriguing, but not not so sure about all the BS involved. Can't wait to run outdoor with the eight's this summer should be a great time.
Electric 1/8th scale trucks/truggies are about as bad ass as they come have you seen those yet??
I raced my RC8 Tekno today for the first time and had a blast. I do not run the clutch or mechanical brakes with the Tekno mostly to shave some weight. I came from 1/10E and I would say I wont be goin back either.

Popularity is gaining some ground. My local track has went from just me to two full heats of electric 1/8th every week this year so far.

I raced 1/8 nitro as a beginner the past two seasons and fumbled my way through and had a good time. However this winter I built a losi with the 2200kv mamba monster and raced it the other weekend and it was a blast. It's nice not to have to keep from stalling or flaming out and even firing up before the race. I highly recommend it for the simplicity.
