Re:Acquisition of Farm 2, Charlotte, NC.
It is with great pleasure to announce that the owners of HobbyTown USA off of West WT Harris Blvd, Charlotte NC, USA have in principal agreed to purchase the Farm 2 Raceway in Charlotte, NC. The Farm 2 has been a pinnacle of RC Motorsports, as it recently served as the host track for the 2008 IFMAR World Championships. Furthermore, it has served as the racing venue for the East Coast Nitro Series (ECNS), Summer and Fall Nitrofest series for the past several years.
Lance Norick opened the Farm 2 about 4 years ago with the sole purpose of hosting the 2008 World Championships. Lance and his team not only accomplished this, but did so much more. He created an RC Motorsports venue that, even now, is still considered as one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in the United States and in the world. This acquisition will allow us to expand on what Lance has already created, as several additions and upgrades will be made over the coming months to prepare for the 2009 outdoor season. Lance will still be involved as an advisor and consultant, offering his years of experience and knowledge.
In closing, we ask that all of our friends and supporters join us for the 2009 season. The ECNS kicks off with its first race March 20th – 21st , followed by the 2nd Annual Don Tilley Race For A Cure, supporting the fight against cancer, which will take place on April 24th – April 25th. Please join us for this and all of the excitement that RC racing has to offer at the Farm 2, in 2009.
