there are 5 sprints here and ready to go and 4 or 5 baja 5b with edm or latemodle bodies ready or real close and we had alot of interest in the cars and stuff at the chili bowl jr. race so hopefully after things get going and some people see them on the track we will pick up some more.

Also since Timberline don't start racing until May maybe a few of there cars will come down and play with us.

We are going to try and make it up for the play day. Never run on dirt before but it sounds like a blast. What is the track liking for tires and gears? Any info would be appreciated.

from what we have ran a 13 or 14 for gear and front tires are still up in the air probably streat tread and or checkerboards, on the rear checkerboards and it acts like 1/4 or less stagger....hope you can make it up track acts like it is going to fun to run it only took one day with one car to get me hooked on 1/4 scale...LOL

We are looking forward to coming. It will be a new experience on dirt. Where are the guys getting the bodies for the 5B's? I have a 5B and would like to have a comparable body to everyone else?

The edm's I have seen have all been home made and the one latemodle body was one that QSM makes as a kit to fit the Baja.

Bring yours with you for sure body or not....the baja class is going to be kinda wide open so anybody that has one laying around can come play and hopefully get hooked on dirt oval and then the bodies will get worked out.

im assumeing you need to join qsac for the insurance

MJS34
02-01-2009, 09:32 AM
not for our track we are just using qsac rules as a base line for the 1/4 scale cars...Darrel Davis (promoter) of this is going to keep it simple and easy trying to get people interested then if we get big enough start thinking qsac...all the sprint cars will be real close to legal if not legal..

Call Darrel for details on rules and track info because he is working with the track owner on setting this up.

Hi guys, no qsac at thia time, maybe 8 or 9 races down the road if there is a good car count we probley go qsac. We will run the 10.5 restricter plate on the Sprints. Wings are up to you with in reason. Must look like a real Sprint car wing.

You should seriesly consider qsac rules and sanction. The sanction provides you the racer and the track/property owner a considerable amount of insurance. It does not cost much, $80.00 if I remember correctly. You can't pay for a doctor visit for that, much less an emergency room visit or heaven forbid a law suit if someone gets hurt.
I would also recommend the QSAC rules. If you decide to go to a sanctioned qsac track then you are already setup and ready to go. No changes in handeling due to drastic car modifications. QSAC membership is only $40.00 a year. THAT is NOT expensive.

no its not that expensive but as for the insurance if you own your home you can get insurance on the car threw your homeowners insurance also but i plan on joining qsac

cool so what kinda tires are working i have a question as to what you are useing for servos for steering and brakes

MJS34
03-08-2009, 08:51 AM
my car uses normal sized servo's as does Rays.. 2.. 3305 Futaba's on steering and 1..3305 on throttle and brake

as for tires yesterday spikes were to way to go on the rear with about 1/2 inch stagger....checkerboards worked but not as good.....front tires I had street treads on both they had ribs on left and checkerboard on right and we all had lots of steering..

hope you can make it up next weekend

Well we had our first playday, like to thank everybody that came out today had a lot of fun. Like to invite everybody to come.
Track did well took some sprinkle rain this morning off & on. Looks like spike or pin tires are the way to go on all cars. Ray Benton with his WCM sprint was the fastest car of the day. See what he can do tomorrow. 1/5 scale buggies run real good today also.
