If your not a member you can register online as well.

Jesse Bean 01-22-2009, 09:05 PM u should do a single cell class:thumbsup:it would really help the evolution after the birds!
J-Dub Racing 01-23-2009, 01:01 AM Yeah it would be cool to change the truck class out for a 13.5 1C car class. Two 21.5 classes is a little much. Just my opinion of course. Either way this is going to be a killer event!!

Mike Russell said that ROAR wouldn't let them run a single cell class even as an exhibition class. I already asked him. :(
I'll be there with some 17.5 4 cell action and maybe that 21.5 truck class. :woohoo:
Bill
Jesse Bean 01-25-2009, 11:55 AM yeah, Hopefully Tekin will have a single cell by the approval date and it will be a legitimate class for the nationals.
J-Dub Racing 01-26-2009, 12:04 PM yeah, Hopefully Tekin will have a single cell by the approval date and it will be a legitimate class for the nationals.
Well it wont be approved befor the nats, as the next approval date isn't until May.
Dawn Sanchez 01-26-2009, 02:58 PM ROAR wouldn't let them run a single cell class even as an exhibition class.
??
Maybe somebody should call me?
Jesse Bean 01-26-2009, 07:42 PM I'll call ya, whatcha wanna talka bout? What's ya numba?
J-Dub Racing 01-27-2009, 11:47 AM I think before we get to involved we may want to make sure Allan wants to offer a single cell class.
Dawn Sanchez 01-27-2009, 01:29 PM I think before we get to involved we may want to make sure Allan wants to offer a single cell class.
True... :)
I just don't recall saying no to this one... although... I have the worst memory in the history of woman-kind LOL
Jesse Bean 01-29-2009, 01:55 PM if there's interest speak now or forever hold ur peace. i think the transition would take a lot more momentum if the single cell/13.5 class was offered. someone will have to get a couple rules ironed out. i know a lot are running 36oz and then there's the volt limit, we do 4.20 +.04 varience for chargers just as the other lipo classes.
PS somebody tell me the roof height rule! Roar's rules section isn't up and i believe its 4.25"?

I'm in, I was planning on being there anyway and would love to run single cell instead of buying NiMH packs to race.
Bill
What is the cost?
Cost of what? If you're asking about entries it'll be the same as last year.
In regards to single cell at this race. I'm currently at the Birds and Mike R, Allan, Mike B and I have had some really good conversation regarding this and an announcment will be later this week. I'm sure you guys will be happy with the announcement.
What is the cost to enter 1 class?
What are the approved 21.5 motors for the LIPO 21.5 car class?
What is the weight rule?
can we run a wing?
What are ROAR rulse on heating LIPO's, and Freezing motors?
Jesse Bean 02-01-2009, 01:30 PM Heard it was $80 which is steep but allan has put a lot of money in that place especially with that crc carpet that's apparently made of GOLD and he's got some overhead. So, no complaints here this time! Lookin forward to Single cell 13.5! Feels like goin home when i go to Greenville!
$80.00 for a non-hand out race?
What is the rule for tire traction Compound?
ScottH 02-01-2009, 01:54 PM If this is a ROAR Nat, the price is set by ROAR, remember just like it was for the Paved Oval Nats last year.
Jesse Bean 02-01-2009, 06:38 PM i believe they are odorless nowdays, which means less headaches
J-Dub Racing 02-02-2009, 12:33 AM 21.5 - Yes a wing is allowd. It is Jack for compound. 38 oz for weight.
Can't wait to hear about the 1C stuff. I should be there for sure if that class is offered. As Jesse said it is just like going home when you go to Greeneville. Allan and crew are some of the best in the country, and they go out of their way to may sure each and every racer has a great time.

What are the approved 21.5 motors for the LIPO 21.5 car class?
What are ROAR rules on heating LIPO's, and Freezing motors?
Ok last 2 unanswered questions,
Thanks for the answers so far, And sorry if I am being annoying, Just want to be prepared if I make the trip.....
Jesse Bean 02-02-2009, 10:41 AM This is the Roar Nats so... any Roar approved motors.
J-Dub Racing 02-02-2009, 12:18 PM As far as I know ROAR doesn't have rules on Heating and Cooling. If I remember right at Greeneville You can heat your packs, just not above a set temp. And I dont think we were able to cool the motors. I am sure Allan will be on in a few days to talk about these questions. I am not sure when he will be coming back from FL.
BTW. These questions are not annoying...especially if you are thinking about coming to the race...

rccarnut 02-03-2009, 12:39 AM Rats, i wont be able to come up.....Tax Season preventing me from coming :(
Jim
Dawn Sanchez 02-03-2009, 01:37 PM As far as I know ROAR doesn't have rules on Heating and Cooling.
that is likely to change... after the Snowbirds this weekend, the ROAR Excom is in discussion regarding several items regarding Lipo batteries and rule enforcement and possibly some alterations to the existing rules.
Please stay tuned.....
thanks.
J-Dub Racing 02-03-2009, 02:10 PM One thing to keep in mind though is that these Lipo's do not like the cold weather. So no heating at all may not be the right direction. But setting a rule that the packs can not go over 100 degrees or something would be good.
I personally heat my packs, but I put the heating pad on the outside of the lipo sack. I see people with the heating pad inside the sack and it is not closed. In my opinion why have the lipo sack if that is how you use it. Mine goes on Med, and the packs get up to about 93 to 100 degrees, but it is always closed.
Just my 2 cents.
Back to the race....Can't wait to hear how all the talks went down at the birds.

ok one more..... I have read and been told that All Tekin brushless motors have been approved, But the 21.5 is not on the list....unless i missd it?
brian0525 02-03-2009, 05:31 PM I have yet to see any other MFG of a 21.5 even come close to a Novak's power so this is really a non issue.
J-Dub Racing 02-03-2009, 05:47 PM As far as I know 21.5 isn't really a "ROAR" class. But I am sure Novak's will be allowed within a certain inductance/resistance. Hopefully with Dawn, Mike, Allan and all the others that have had talks in the last few weeks everything will be ironed out soon.
VA.RACER 02-03-2009, 10:41 PM Novak is what seems to be the quickest so far for me also in 21.5
Jesse Bean 02-04-2009, 09:13 AM Car Bodies for 13.5/3.7 class PLEASE!
Seven 02-04-2009, 09:27 AM Car Bodies for 13.5/3.7 class PLEASE!
I don't want to drive the truck.
killerkoncepts 02-04-2009, 09:32 AM cot bodies would be cool if protoform had theres out!
J-Dub Racing 02-04-2009, 12:14 PM Car bodies for 13.5 1C. No COT or Trucks
Dawn Sanchez 02-04-2009, 12:52 PM ok one more..... I have read and been told that All Tekin brushless motors have been approved, But the 21.5 is not on the list....unless i missd it?
All Tekin motors that have been submitted to date are listed. I'm not aware of any still waiting but I will verify.

Please refer to rule 8.8.2.3.4 for 21.5 motor specs and page 17 of the Nationals Guidelines that refer to 21.5 as a required Oval class.
Also, we will be technically inspecting BL motors with additional methods outside of inductance only as per the BL motor company representatives suggestions and assistance in validating fairness of each motor.
swtour 02-04-2009, 10:41 PM I informed CHARLIE @ Novak a couple weeks ago that the ONLY 21.5 listed on ROAR's website is the TRINITY 21.5... Not sure how that ball got dropped, or by who but hopefully it'll be corrected...

Jesse Bean 02-05-2009, 09:41 PM make the reservation and let them feel the guilt of turning away the $80 bucks! we'll have one hell of a time at applebees if we do have an extra $80 for the bar.

a few more questions?
Any word on the heating the batts,? or Freezing the motors?
and are the 40C 3200 legal for 21.5?
Entry for all ROAR Nationals is $80 per class.
There is currently only one approved 21.5 and that's the Trinity Pulse. They're the only one's that have submitted for approval. We should see Novak, Tekin and some of the other mfr's submitting this coming week.
As far as approved batteries if it's on the list it's approved to be used at this race. The last approvals we're at the end of Dec and one in Jan. These were all batteries approved under the open approval cycle which closed 12/31/08. The next update for 2S 7.2V batteries won't happen until May 1st, 2009.
As far as heating and cooling of motors or batteries. Due to the recent lipo incidents at he last couple major indoor carpet races there will be an announcement made in the next week or two regarding some rule changes in lipo charging/discharging as well as the use of heating and cooling equipment in the pits at ROAR events.
As fasr as a 1S 13.5 class, still working the details out with Allan, we'll let you guys know in the next few days.

killerkoncepts 02-08-2009, 06:33 PM I thought entry fees were gonna be lower this year!
