BRhodes 01-11-2009, 02:11 PM This was a great event last year and I am hoping to make it back again this year. It is always fun to race with the TRS crew. Bob
TBRC1 01-11-2009, 07:18 PM If enough show for 13.5 4 cell and mother nature is good to us, I think the TBRC guys would be interested..................That and maybe the mini losi late mods for 2 or 3 of us.
JW#62 01-11-2009, 08:25 PM Yes it was a AWESOME race. Hope to make it back my self...
JW
gindlmi 01-11-2009, 08:32 PM I will be a field filler for 13.5 if need be....and 21.5 for sure
mr_meat68 01-12-2009, 01:28 AM 17.5 4 cell???
TBRC3 01-12-2009, 10:44 AM 17.5 4 cell i think i could handle that one too
gindlmi 01-12-2009, 05:30 PM ok 17.5 will work also
TBRC1 01-12-2009, 07:11 PM OH boy it looks like alot of work for me that weekend. 13.5 4 cell maybe 17.5 4 cell.........and if the mini late models have enough them to. I had better hire a crew to help me out in the pits. The only trouble is the next weekend there's a big race for the mini cars at Bumps and Jumps, that's going to make for 2 very busy weekends

Pop Chevy 01-15-2009, 12:08 AM 17.5 4 cell Hmmm . What batteries are legal? Truck or car?
Pops
I would prob come if it wasn't the same weekend as the WinterBlast! Damn!
mr_meat68 01-15-2009, 11:31 AM same day as marshall's cabin fever race too
BRhodes 01-15-2009, 04:31 PM same day as marshall's cabin fever race too
Being that this race is being run using BRL rules I wouldn't think many of the Marshall's group would be interested anyways. i could be wrong however.
TBRC1 01-15-2009, 06:28 PM Man it sounds like ALOT of racing going on that weekend....Might stretch out the racers real thin :(
casper60 01-15-2009, 06:40 PM Man it sounds like ALOT of racing going on that weekend....Might stretch out the racers real thin :(

Pops,
By the sounds of it there might be enough Spec Trucks to make a class if that's what your looking to run.

JW
kmberie 01-17-2009, 04:22 PM Hey guys looking forward to this event again! I know at least 2 of us will be down from Erie for 21.5.
Is your 17.5 class going to be a LIPO or 4-Cell class for this event?
Thanks!
TBRC1 01-17-2009, 05:05 PM Just stating cold facts and the worst wrong that can happen to me is mother nature going TOTALY against me :(
Da One 01-17-2009, 06:35 PM this was a great race last year. Count Slaz and I in for 21.5. Can't wait!
mr_meat68 01-17-2009, 07:31 PM ok then, good luck and have a good race

ry81racer 01-18-2009, 09:56 AM Guys I can't wait for this race. I had a blast last year and will def. be making the trip this year from Erie, PA. Along with a few others hopefully. I will be in for the 21.5 class as well as another once I decide on what other class to run.

We're just pointing out there are 3 major races in the same region on the SAME weekend. Thats it. Did we ever say anything negative other than to point out a fact?
ry81racer 01-19-2009, 01:24 PM Why not go on the other threads and point out to those events that there are other events going on. They same weekend. Why beat up on Altoona. They guys down in Altoona are class acts. They held a great event last yr. I don't recall any of the races that are complaining about there being other races this weekend attending last yrs race.
casper60 01-19-2009, 03:18 PM That fact has been pointed out and dually noted by the people running those events.
Honestly your making something out of nothing. It was mearly stated this is an event we would have attended if others hadn't already been put on the calendar. Nobody's complaining about the track or it's race. Enough said, you can move on now.

Then why didn't you attend it last year?
casper60 01-19-2009, 05:15 PM Because I got back into RC late last February after 8 years off while racing real cars

I am not positive of the actual runline but there are some videos and pics on their website that would give you a good idea of the track size. www.altoonaraceway.com Any questions feel free to ask. This race was alot of fun last year.
21.5 lipo is the largest established class but what would be the consensus for a 2nd class. It sounds to me like 17.5 4 cell might be a good class to add. Who would be in for 17.5 4cell? Toby? Mike G? Anybody else?
TBRC1 01-20-2009, 10:50 PM UH I dunno ................GEE I have an extra GTB 4 cell .....A 17.5 motor .... a car to put it in ..........................and soon some killer cells (almost from hell cells) from Full Throttle. If things go my way 17.5 could be a reality.

LOL Tell the truth Bob you only put that video up there so someone would see your win and interview!!!!LOL
gindlmi 01-20-2009, 11:57 PM I would try the 17.5 4 cell as my second class if there are enough for a couple of heats of them
Da One 01-21-2009, 12:07 AM Hopefully we will get 30some 21.5 racers again, like we had in 13.5 last year. What was there like an F-Main?? This was the such a great event last year. The best race announcer hands down!!! Sorry I forgot your name! Great track owner. Example of this. A few of us who had never been there before came the night before to practice. As soon as we got there the computer was up and running with practice times at hand. He kept the place open as long as we wanted AND he bought us PIZZA for free!!!! Plus free DVD sent to your house of the event. Great guy, great place!! I wish I lived close enough to call Altoona my home track.
casper60 01-21-2009, 12:10 AM wow, sounds like other tracks should take some notes...

Agreed, a class act. Driver introductions, the calling out of the races, Rolling starts etc, etc.
A total package!
Any of the locals willing to give some insight into the tire package on the 21.5 I remember last year in 13.5 4cell we were using BSR pearls in the rear, don't recall what was up front.
Thanks!

Kirby, your batteries will be checked and then re-checked before each heat! I have heard about your charging shenanigans!
I think we also need to check battery temps along with voltage.
Da One 01-21-2009, 05:45 PM I think we also need to check battery temps along with voltage.[/QUOTE]
Agreed. I think some people aren't aware of some BRL charging rules, as evident this past weekend at classic.
Lohrr1 01-21-2009, 10:27 PM I'm planning on making the trip this year also for 21.5 & maybe 17.4/4 cell
Rick
