I have been lurking for a few weeks trying to find new designs.

I got started with Aurora HO 45+ years ago with the steering wheel controllers.
While in the advanced stages of puberty, 1:1 race cars shunted my HO track and cars to someone else garage. About 12 years ago after I retired from full time racing someone bought me a Tyco set for Christmas as a joke. I expanded it a few times but my kids were teenagers and they weren't interested. For some reason I held onto it.
I have grandkids now and other family members have kids in the 3-6 year range. I set it up for the girls for a sleepover New Years Eve. After a little coaching they were able to stay on the track 20 or so laps.
2 Lanes aren't enough when there are 4 in this age group. The 3 year old boy was able to keep the car on the track as long as he keep his finger behind the trigger as a throttle stop. Needless to say I am going to build them a 4 lane and see how it goes.
I purchased a SI today and am looking for additional pieces. I have the spreadsheet that list the 4 major sets on the market. I have noticed that there are other sets that go for auction on Ebay. Does anyone have a list of the sets that use the contemporary style of Tomy track other than the four that are listed? I have seen one set called the 'Super Giant' which doesn't have the length of the newer 'Giant' and several others which have celebrity driver's names associated with them. The pictures aren't very clear. So, can anyone give some input to make sure I am getting the latest Tomy track when I see these sets on Ebay?

Great place for HO!!

hoslotcarracing.com, has many different layout options especially if you are considering building a table/ If you do a little more reading/searching in the track building section you'll find even more ideas. I believe one post is label Layout ideas for my Giant Raceway or something to that affect.

ohno50,

The Racemasters site lists all of the new Tomy sets. Racemasters is the US distirbitor for Tomy.

Greg Braun's site gives a lot of information on layouts, tables, power supplies, wiring, scenery, etc.

Thanks everyone. Some of the sets I am talking about must be earlier releases of track sets. If anyone ever sees a listing of the track pieces for the older sets let me know.

I have created a list of links for all kinds of HO sits including Braun's site but can't see to find the piece lists for the older sets that use the contemporary Tomy type track.
