View Full Version : would like to know what these are worth...
ampracing99 01-09-2009, 11:07 PM I'm wanting to know what these are worth i recently got them in a trade and the only reason why i need to get rid of them is because my account is overdrafted and i need to fix it, so i can finish my deal with coach61, Dave is holding all the Tyco track for me he was selling, and i have to thank him for being patient with me great guy. these holidays got me kinda in a bind, thanks guys, Shon:thumbsup:
These are brand new in the package, two are nascar anniversary additions(40th & 50th.
1976Cordoba 01-09-2009, 11:13 PM Wow -- those have the 440 wide chassis (not the usual 440X2 wide). That's kind of a rarity. I think there is a Porsche Carrera (red, #3 maybe) that had this chassis also.
I've spotted these cars going for mid and upper $20s to high $30s . . . depends who wants them and how bad, just like anything else.
The chassis alone are kind of a novelty and pretty cool to see, if you ask me.
ampracing99 01-10-2009, 04:00 PM I have 2 older wide chassis Tyco 440 Ferrari F-40's to one yellow and one red from the 90's looking to get rid of also not sure what they run they have been ran but great runners.same chassis as these above.

Those two aren't worth much. In fact, to get some cheap narrow 440X2 rollers I was buying those trucks on feePay and could often get the pair for less than $10 as usually no one would bid on them.
ampracing99 01-10-2009, 05:01 PM thanks Doba, i will keep them then not worth my time to even post and ship them, lol, i will just sell the the wide chassis Ferrari F-40's, and the new ones in the package.Shon
AfxToo 01-10-2009, 06:24 PM I believe what you are calling "wide chassis 440" is really the HP440. It was a cost reduced 440 family chassis that came out after the HP7 was discontinued and well after the X2 was released. They were used on the Days of Thunder cars too. The TRU TwinMill sets that sold for around $10 a couple of years ago came with the old bar magnet 440 narrow chassis. The HP440 may be kind of "rare" from a production numbers perspective but they were just one of several one-off 440 or X2 variants that Tyco/Mattel produced as they started scaling back on the mainstream slot car market and doing limited runs of themed sets. The big wheel X2s that came out on a TRU Mopar set a couple of years ago, the ones with the extended drop magnets are probably rarer. It's funny how you assume that the tooling costs on parts must be high and doing variations must be expensive. Then you see Mattel crank out one of a kind chassis and one of a kind magnet for one car in one set, or revive an old chassis that hasn't been produced in 15 years, and all you can do is scratch your head and wonder. Hmmm.

Exactly right on both counts. :)
wannafbody 01-10-2009, 09:42 PM What is the Ferrari worth?
ampracing99 01-10-2009, 10:24 PM What is the Ferrari worth?
To be honest with you in my opinion i dont think its worth much but i did some checking around and the new ones i have been running from $25-$30 it just depends on the person you buy from and if anyone is looking for these i wish i could keep them, but kinda hurting right now, so i'm looking for half trades and half cash (pay-pal) and i need to finish my deal with coach to, hes been holding the Tyco track for me, great guy very patient.
but the Ferrari i think i'm lucky to get rid of them for $10-$15 each mainly because they do have the wide chassis i could be wrong they could be worth a little more but i'm not really sure, i just want people to do there research before they buy or trade with me since i dont really know, i'm a honest guy, and i know how it is when you buy things, Shon:thumbsup:
wannafbody 01-12-2009, 10:34 AM I was wondering because I have a couple wide body Vipers.
