HERSHEYSQUIRTS 01-09-2009, 08:41 PM Whens the 2009 schedule going to be released? Any new Changes: 6 minute qualies and Mains? Adding a Slash Class?
hankster 01-09-2009, 09:19 PM I don't think the annual meeting is until Feb.
one18thscalerac 01-10-2009, 09:11 PM another vote for slash class
FishRC 01-11-2009, 11:59 AM We have not had our meeting yet. So if you have any thing you are going to want to have us make a decision on, now is the time to speak up.

bfg needs a race.. majority of people come from the west side to race the morl why not have one on the westside??
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 01-11-2009, 04:19 PM Lower Masters Age to 35... You'll get more entries!!
Stateline R/C 01-11-2009, 08:18 PM let me know about the meeting if you guys would like to come back. MAYBE we could get one in with out a monsoon

What!?!?! Stateline without a monsoon? It just wouldn't be the Stateline race without one :p
hankster 01-11-2009, 10:06 PM Fish, I have a couple of suggestions.
1/8 scale electric but don't limit it to hard cased batteries only because there is now only one such pack on the market and it is EXPENSIVE!
Slash class, basic stock chassis/shocks/etc. except allow any transmitter/receiver and up to a 13.5 brushless or 19T brushed motor.
FishRC 01-12-2009, 10:07 AM I know I will bring up a slash class at the meeting. No worries there. The 1/8th electric likely will be a topic for discussion as there is ROAR rules now on the 1/8th electric class. The 1/8ths under ROAR are required to use hardcase. They can either use a 4s or 2 - 2s hard cased packs. MORL does not have an offical position on this just yet as we have not had the meeting for this year. Any one buying LiPo's at this point should be buying hard case. MORL has not set a date yet but eventualy will go to a hardcase only rule in all classes.
AHORNE 01-12-2009, 10:12 AM Lower Masters Age to 35... You'll get more entries!!
that would be sweet!!!then I could run it!!!!!!
hankster 01-12-2009, 10:54 AM Last year Masters already had more entries then Stock or Mod Truck. I don't think we'd want either of those truck class cannibalized any further.
el camino 01-12-2009, 11:01 AM I vote for a slash class and a race at b.f.g.! or possibly at martin or both.
REVO-Beat-U 01-12-2009, 11:04 AM bfg needs a race.. majority of people come from the west side to race the morl why not have one on the westside??
I second that, a very large percentage of the racers are from the West side of the state. I guess I need to rephrase this to be more specific....We do not have a race in West Michigan (Holland, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and surrounding areas). We have two tracks in this area that both could support such a race and I am sure would both be interested in hosting it. Plus, from the rumbling I heard last year, there are a decent number of racers who would like to run on something other than sand that blows out half way through the day. Might be nice to offer a variety of track surfaces to race on this year.
sbrady#0 01-12-2009, 07:03 PM gobles is on the west side of the state and jones too
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 01-12-2009, 11:09 PM I vote the East/West shootout should be the first race for Both Series! Points count towrds both series!!
jasburrito 01-13-2009, 12:34 AM From rc pro site rules,Batteries – 4S, 5S or 6S lipo. No MAH limit. Batteries must be in good physical shape no cut, damaged or swollen pack allowed. Hard cases not required. Batteries must be secured properly in the vehicle, strapped or clamped into place before the event begins.
carbon madness 01-13-2009, 01:03 AM gobles is on the west side of the state and jones too
Thats the east side of the state ;)
420 Tech R/C 01-13-2009, 02:41 AM slash for sure, and maybe a super stock 2wd buggy class.I think given the large amount of entries for super stock at the regional race and only 6 stock buggy entries maybe guys are saying they would rather run super stock instead of stock...
FishRC 01-13-2009, 10:19 AM Thanks for all the great input guys. I appreciate the constructive ideas. I will bring them all to the meeting. It is a wonderfull thing to have such support from the tracks as we now have.
airconde 01-13-2009, 11:25 AM With the tracks you have now to add one or two tracks. Are you gonna drop a track thats already been establisted or make the series longer. I think if you add two more tracks start the first week of May and run till end of Aug run a race every 3 weeks you could have 8 Tracks . And have best of 6 of 8 it might open things up a little and and get SOME NEW BLOOD.
JUST MY 2CNTS

you need to lear to read a map or turn yours over
carbon madness 01-13-2009, 11:55 PM you need to lear to read a map or turn yours over
 I think you need to look at a map again
You know if you go west you are heading out to Lake MI (unless you are in the U.P. of MI), IL, WI, CA etc. I live in a since on the west side of the state (althogh I am in IN which is south of MI).
420 Tech R/C 01-14-2009, 12:19 AM Thats the east side of the state ;)
uh, jones and gobles are on the west side. jones just west of 3 rivers, and gobles west of k-zoo.
regardless, I wouldnt mind running battlefront instead of gobles, but stateline has to stay in the loop just so we can try and get a race in without a flood.:thumbsup:Besides, running oval the night before is a riot!!

more blood; more races/tracks and more drops spread over an extended season.
XXX KEITH 01-14-2009, 10:58 PM yea the first 2 rounds at gobles were nice then boom it was like racing on the beech the jumps werent even there anymore the were gone not a bad track if it were a club race but havin that many people on the sand aint workin.. i agree dont drop no tracks lets make it longer
420 Tech R/C 01-14-2009, 11:04 PM guys with the economy being so crappy right now I dont think making the season longer is really the answer.Granted it sounds like fun to me. But I know last year a few had $$ issues as far as traveling to race and with things sounding like they will be worse economically this year I think cramming more travel into the same time period may actually detur some from running more than just a race or 2 of the series. Just my 2 cents man.
hankster 01-15-2009, 12:05 AM I agree. IMHO, dropping the race at P. Run would be a good idea. Keep MORL a west side race.
As a side note, I like the Gobles track. I find that the changing track conditions makes it more interesting. The best line may not always be the fast line so you have to adjust your driving to suit the track.

I didnt say I didnt like gobles, but ALOT of others had a very frustrating day there and from the sounds of it a few would rather not return there.
I personally liked the old school apeal of the track.I also liked the way it came apart with that many cars running on it. It made the mains like running a completely different track.
groundhogg 01-15-2009, 01:30 PM Remember Dave, these are West side guys saying they want all the races on the west side of the state.
Then they also want new blood. There isn't apparently any new blood east of Lansing.

LOL, I agree, the track could get to you if you let it. I would much rather have a track like that then a hard pack "might as well run carpet" clay track. Throw almost any tire on it and it works, better then going thru a couple sets of tires in a weekend. Just gotta drive what the track will give ya. IMHO, it's a great equalizer.
Leonard 01-15-2009, 04:27 PM I would love gobles if we could run paddle tires:thumbsup:
keep slash stock no mod - leave master like it is - run bfg - run martin if they can get rid of the rocks- run gobles they have great pop. lets race!
hankster 01-15-2009, 06:33 PM +1
sbrady#0 01-15-2009, 08:34 PM I like the track at gobles too they got cool games there
one18thscalerac 01-15-2009, 08:39 PM keep gobles add bfg
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 01-16-2009, 02:41 AM I would love gobles if we could run paddle tires:thumbsup:
Why can't you?

airconde 01-16-2009, 04:09 PM I think accually the Dirt Dawgs pretty much quit racing. And Jeff and Troy moved the bussiness out of the bassment and into their new place and dad just whanted his big back yard back.

hankster 01-17-2009, 12:17 AM There has only been 5 races a year. I have a shirt from about 10 years ago that shows the tracks Condie named.
Stateline R/C 01-17-2009, 08:47 AM they should make up some shirts, i would take a couple. they usually sell pretty good im going to get some for this summer
sbrady#0 01-17-2009, 09:06 AM I know condie has been racing for a long time so how can he remeber that far back
airconde 01-19-2009, 11:27 AM Vitamins Barley
