Just to quiet the rumor mill. No, we have not made a final decision on the SC class. Bear with us on this. Since the SC10 is not out, it is hard to make decisions on what might be. So rather than adjusting the rules numerous times, we are trying to make an informed decision.

Same rules as last year on the numer of qualifying rounds. 3 only if we can start the 3rd by 4pm.

Flyers are posted. http://www.midwestoffroad.org/flyers.html

Yes, I tore it down, found the front diff wasted, the gear and the outdrives were melted, and the rear diff was fried. only the frt belt was bad, no big deal, the diffs must have been a little too loose for the motor you had in it.
Its all good, I rebuilt it, and just bought another one loaded with hop-ups, and Im bout to buy 1 more that has a few more hops that I want. one word: titanium slipper/lay shaft set, lol. Cant wait for dirt season. Thanx again Jeff, I am very happy with my purchase. ttyl

I do beleive that they said If 6 or more showed for a 13.5 class they would run it.But I would check with Fish just to be sure.

FishRC

Without specificly asking the other directors, if I rember our discussion correctly on the toppic of 13.5 was it was a masters only class. With having stock and mod already for classes, we were not going to allow a 13.5 class to be added. The 6 or more rule would not apply for 1/10th buggy, truck, SC or 4WD using a 13.5. That is not to say you can't run a 13.5, just that it would be mod.

Double check that you have some pretty big gears before you run 17.5 because it's going to be a little dissapointing without a decent gear. Associated makes 72 tooth spurs and you'll want a few pinions in the 35 tooth range.

Ok, here is the scoop on what we will start with at Litchfield for the SC Classes.

Slash stock - No aluminum aftermarket parts, plastic aftermarket parts are allowed to replace the bulkhead, arms and outer hubs. Radio, receiver, servo and speed control may be changed. Motors in this class are to be Traxxas Titan only. All other motors including brushless are considered the SC class under ROAR rules. Must use tires that would normally fit on the Slash/SC10 rims. 1/10th offroad truck tires are not allowed. Cut tires are not allowed.

SC Class - ROAR rules in this class. Traxxas Slash and the SC10 are legal at this point, others may be legal but none are formally announced as of now. The Titan motor will be allowed in the SC class subject to possible change.

In all classes the only approved tires to this point are: Tire Patterns - Proline 1076 or 1078; AE 9809; Traxxas 5871

this dosnt sound like stock slash class if your changing all the electronics out...and for what reason? and it sounds like you can use any tire that fits the rim, prolines? the rules have changed an awful lot since the meeting. Ill shut up now.

I would have to agree. Since there is going to be an SC class, keep the Slash class a true "box stock" class. No changes to what comes out of the box. You can use the spacers that come with the kit, change oil in the shocks and have your choice of the 18 or 23 tooth pinion that comes with the kit.

If you want to change radio, esc, servos, etc. then move up and run in the SC class.

There was much talk about keeping the Slash class spec. and with the SC class it is an opportunity to do just that.

hankster
04-07-2009, 05:15 PM
Interesting... now there are 2 SC classes (which have never been run before) but they fail to recognize the 1/8th scales as an "official" class even though they raced in the series last year.

Leonard
04-07-2009, 05:28 PM
I don't think you need to reinvent the wheel here for the spec class. Tires and motor are one thing but when some one has a M11 radio or something, they don't want to use that worthless traxxas radio. The stock servo should be good enough but that radio has to go ! Most every other track that ran spec classes all winter long allowed radio changes. Or enjoy heats of 6 due to a lack of more channels because not everyone has the odd ball 27mhz am crystals in there pit box.
