The M-40 track in Gobles is still opened. We were not at the MORL meeting this last weekend do to issues at the hospital I work at.

Ok M-40 Gobles was the good one.... that soda pop kept me going all day. The unique thing about the tracks here in Michigan are they get rough and bumpy and it challenges your driving skills. They are fun and the MARS series has always been run on them.

Quite frankly if I wanted to run carpet i'd run carpet and not do it with a dirt car. Or I would go back home out west and run on a true "Blue Groove" either way I prefer the bumpy tracks and do enjoy the changing track conditions.

On a side note:
My 1/8E told me a story tonight about crushing a Slash then crapping out Traxxas stickers..... :woohoo:

If MORL wants to climb out of the shadow of the MARS moniker, they have to do some of the things MARS chose not to do toward the end. One of those, is stretching back out from being a West side only series. There used to be tracks east of Lansing in the MARS series. People talk about wanting 'new blood' in the series. But if you don't give the people east of Lansing something, why should they bother racing the series?

Don't quote me on this, but I dont think it was the driving that anyone cared about. I know I kept hearing last year about tracks that blow out after one round of racing and how the guys did not like that. I could be wrong (wouldnt be the first time) but I think thats what XXX is refering to.

I did not race the series last year, but I was hoping to make it to some of the events this year. I dont know about you guys, but seeing the sun out at times makes me want to get outside and race! :thumbsup:

Agreed. A six race series, two on the East side, two in Central, and two West side would make things even. Maybe a thought for next year.

Blowed out or not IT'S OFFROAD .You guys wanna see blowed out go to A GAS 1/8 scale offroad event see what its like after 2 rounds .Anybody out their remember some of the KYOSHO'S GAS NATS AT DETROIT afew years ago. I know it's electric and for electric it would be nice to have a smooth track this is the midwest not Cailf or Fla.
Some of the Best Driver's in the Country come from here.Because of differant conditions. I'm a old dirt biker and rough does'nt bother me at all.

Agreed the layout at gobbles was way cool very fast in the first round but after that it was just about impossible to kept the Truck or Buggy going straight Now I am not saying I want carpet but even at Litchfield it blows out but not like gobbles. I am just glad to have a series to run this year it could be like everything else laying off closing up shutting down .Now I like the track at Pheasant run the dragon back was bad a$$ cool but with 3 out of the five tracks 2 hours away and one 1.5 hour away and one in my back yard there’s lot of driven for the east siders I’m not say that its going to stop me but I would have nice to another track on the east like mx131 or the gobbles or maybe raw roots if it was still open or how about Village Hobbies So all I am trying say is be thankful there is a morl to run

Well to do 6 races we would have to start in april and that means it will be COLD out and race to october more cold anr rain too. I would still run I just want to race with other people looking foreward to this year too.

Stinks you guys knocked out M-40 for Battlefront if anything it would have been nice to add another race to the series. Either way it is what it is and to clarify for you haters I am not crying about it simply stating my opinion.

You runnin stk buggy with me again this year Rusty? I think I will run stk truck as well, Im not old enough, or should I say I dont FEEL old enough to run masters quite yet, and not good enough to run truck mod. 4wd mod and 1/8th, 4 classes thanx to lipos/brushless, cake walk.

As for Pheasant Run, I would drive 5 hours to race there, not that the track is awsome, but I want to support Terry and his family all I can.

Just kidding. I told him the oval shaped bruise from the bumper was almost defined enough you could almost see the big AE imprint..LOL

Yes I probally will run stock this year, I am heading to the Off-Road Nats and running stock there so I want to try some new things and see what the old beast can do.

Also I was planning on running the Chi-Town shootout untill they decided not to run 1/8E so I may or maynot go now.

Back to our original topic,,, and since the powers that be, had their meeting last sunday,,,,,,, What are the chiseled in stone rules for the 2009 series? I understand that the rules for the Slash class have been refined.

I will get them posted up in about a week. Right now I'm in Florida and will get back on March 7 (yea, 2 weeks in FL .. such a drag.) Its hard to take 80 deg and not an RC track to go play at.

17.5 in a B4, 34t pinion, 69t spur. It requires a little custom work on the spur to CA glue some slipper pads to it, either that or a turbo hub slipper eliminator.You also will want to keep 33t, 34t, 35t and 36t pinions on hand for fine tuning to tracks.

Associated makes 72 tooth spur's now so it's not as hard to find a gear for 17.5 Takes about one tooth up from the pinion 420 recommended.

Also, your gearing will depend on the speedo a lot. From my experience, more gear on a novak, less on the LRP SPX, and even less on the Tekin's.

Were'nt them aluminum bulkheads only good for snapping front arms offwhen you just brushed a tube?? I have the Original black plastic bulkhead that came with the first batch of XX4s that Losi quickly changed. I've heard they would ruin a chassis if hit wrong.
