Speaking of racing...

What's the rule(s) RE stock vs aftermarket shocks for the Slash / SC oval racing Friday evening?

I think our test pilot has been practicing with Bowties, but then they switch around so often I cant keep track of the latest.

(that doesn't count the part when the foams went flying while playing on the Oval)

For thoes that don't know yet. Parking in the vally under the trees at the south end of the tracks is not a good idea. That is the drainage ditch for the highway. If we do get hit with a big storm, you might be the next one chasing your tire bucket and other stuff as it floats off, right Rozzel. If your not sure how heavy it might rain, hit the banquet flyer on the web site and get the error page. Then think of the great work the Stateline crew did as we still got in a full day on the track. The Stateline crew gets it done!

C'mon Fish! I was gonna save that space for Roswell!

Just wondering if my parts don't come in tomarrow is there anyone that would have these 2 parts for the T4/B4 (and if the guy I normaly go with doesn't have any)?

-9563 front bulkhead for the B4/T4
-4334 2-56 x 5/16" button head screws (x2 screws)

As for the rain, I am ready to see lake state line in person. If needed I could bring a fishing pole as well. lmao

240+ entries. Total of 28 heats. I gave it up at 11:30pm after the SC main (#13). Would have been an additional 1 1/2 hours till my last main would have run. Started to rain as I left so not sure if they even got the mains done.

Holy COW!

What a night... There was light rain, yet the Mod Buggy A-Main ran, in the rain. The rest of the night cleared up and all the classes finished out with sort of better weather (it did get a little chilly, but the rains held off).

Patrick Forrest kicked some arse in the 1/8 Buggy B-Main.

We rolled out @ 2:22.

Will start editing vids after some badly needed sleep. BIG thanks to Kevin and family for the hospitality.

Night'all.

(Edited for freaking middle if the night dead tired typos).

Yeah the mod buggy A was almost called off, then they ran in the rain.

The rain stoped, and the trucks kicked things off in the lightly watered track, and the grip the track had with ifmar pins was just great.

Got done racing at 2am, and we didn't leave until 2:40am, and I just got home. lol

Also I have to thank aeRayls for the front arm for my T4 (I didn't plan on breaking one, but I did lol)

Great time for sure guys!!The slash enduro was the most fun I've had racing in a long time, and the racing was sooooo close for being a half hour event with the top 4 teams all finishing with 77 laps and below that it only fell off by a lap or 2 to round out the top 10. Saturday was just plain clean fun!!Couldnt ask for a bunch of better guys to run with which always makes for a fun day. See everybody at P run!! Also congrats to Kyle Munson on the SC win!!! thanks man, that was an awesome race. i dont think i blinked for the whole race. thanks to stateline crew for putting on a good show, had a really good time. didnt break anything on race day which im thankful for. and thanks to everyone that stuck it out in the end, i know it was late but no reason to go home early after a long day of racing.

also, i had alot of fun in the slash enduro. someone should set something up where we have enduro races once in a while, either off schedule or on friday nights or something, that was a blast. crazy how everyone after 30 minutes was all within 1 lap of each other from 1st through 4th i believe.

I only broke one part on the track and really that was when an E-8th scale landed on the truck on pratice day. Then I had one A-arm crack on race day when I cased the south dubble in the warm up laps (I love the GT2 front arms as if that was a standard T4 arm I think I would have broke it all the way). lol

Just because a track has big jumps doesn't me cars will break on those jumps, as I have seen more cars break on small but very fast jumps as if you get out of shape there is no way to fix the car in the air.

munsonator08
07-27-2009, 12:01 AM
i broke a T plate and rear shock tower on my losi truck with modified in it, but not on race day. my fault, no traction and had an 8.5 in it, truck parachuted a bit and cased the jump on the south double.

friday practice i broke a right front A arm on my SC10, but that was my fault for landing wrong when i tried to avoid an pile up on the south double.

i figured out really fast that i didnt like that jump, and neither did my cars, so i just single, singled it most of the time. might not have been the fastest route, but at least it was consistent, and it made sure i wasnt going to break something, or have to be marshalled.

Its true, we all love R/C up here in MI and most of us stayed until the very end. I didnt get home until almost 4:30am.

I had a great time at stateline, what an awesome track. I got some practice in friday, and it really paid off. I managed to qualifiy 9th in the Stock truck A-Main for the first time and that felt amazing. Now I just need to work on driving in the dark. I couldnt judge the jumps very well, and just drove like crap in both stock truck and 4wd.

Thanks everyone for the great weekend, cant wait for Phesant Run!!

Stateline is always a great time for sure, and even with the rain, it was still an awesome day of racing... You guys are doing an awesome job down there. Wish I had more time to travel and race at your track several times a year... Maybe next year... And great competition from all the states in the midwest...

Alos, thanks Tom for lending me that speedo for the 8th scale... It wasn't setup the same way as my Mamba, but it allowed me to race at least and besides some bad timing on the jumps due to the different feel, it was a blast to drive the 8th scale on the best track around michigan. Loved the layout and traction was awesome for the main at 2am...lol

Just a suggestion, maybe we need to think about going through the main a little faster so we don't end up driving back for 2hrs at night after almost a 24 hrs day... not that safe if you ask me... Actually, a strict 2min between heats should be plenty enough during qualifying to get on the track and take ONE practice lap, so we can keep the show going smoothly... just food for thoughts...

See you all at Pheasant Runn...

When do you guys expect to have the results posted?
Thanks,
Mike

I'm an old guy, I left at 11:30. I wouldn't have made it home in one piece if I would have waited until 2am. My suggestion would be that no qualifying round should start after 4 pm.
