Tdevil 05-13-2009, 08:20 AM Yup, don't want to mess with tires, etc. Grab the Slash, keep the Titan in it and pull the trigger!!!! No grey areas in the stock Slash class.
I think I kind of agree that the Goosebumps should not be allowed until they are readily available (i.e. on the shelf at the local hobby shop.) especially if they do give the significant advantage that everyone is talking about.
twbeutler 05-13-2009, 07:48 PM hi everybody
LOSI_Duck 05-13-2009, 09:50 PM Cant wait to get the ball rolling this Saturday. Lets hope for a great turn out.
twbeutler 05-13-2009, 11:00 PM lets hope for good weather too
carbon madness 05-13-2009, 11:35 PM If it rains I say we race anyways (as long as there isn't puddles).
I can't wait to hit the track on friday, although sadly I will only have one car race (4wd mod buggy) instead of 2. lol
Loony 05-13-2009, 11:49 PM Hi Todd!
It's going to be party cloudy 68 degrees and beautiful out! Just keep saying that... Even if it rains just keep saying that.
420 Tech R/C 05-14-2009, 12:20 AM if it does rain it wont last long. Just means we wont have to water for a bit!!
kwiksi 05-14-2009, 06:14 AM Damn. I just saw showers fri night into Sat. morning. Anybody see different?
kwiksi 05-14-2009, 07:35 AM So is the SC class open motor?
el camino 05-14-2009, 07:45 AM I'm a little confused about the slash- sc10 class rules. Can someone pleaseshed light on the new rules? I want to run stock slash spec, what tires are legal? And in the sc10 class, can you run any slash type of truck and tire as long as it has a titan motor? I understand the slash class but the tire thing threw me off and the sc10 class has been a littleconfusing from the start. Not trying to start a debate.... just want to know which class I will be in. thanks
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 05-14-2009, 07:53 AM This was taken right from the WWW.MIDWESTOFFROAD.ORG web site.
2009 Rules
MORL follows ROAR rules with the following changes.
Stock Motors: ROAR approved brushed stock or brushless stock 17.5+
Mod Motors: ROAR approved brushed or brushless.
Batteries: ROAR approved batteries only, NiCad, NiMH or LiPo. In 2009 softpacks that have a 30 mil or thicker cover added will be legal. In 2010, only ROAR approved hard packs will be legal.
AMB scoring: Personal transponders allowed, house transponders available.
Format: Three rounds of IFMAR qualifying, if the third round has been started by 4:00pm, then mains for all participants. Five minute races, two minute grid time between races.
Masters – Age 40+, ROAR legal stock, 19T or brushless 13.5+
Novice – may not have competed in more than 3 series races in any prior season. Run what you brung. Any driver competing in novice, may only run the novice class.
Slash stock - No aluminum aftermarket parts, plastic aftermarket parts are allowed to replace the bulkhead, arms and outer hubs. Radio, receiver, servo and speed control may be changed. Motors in this class are to be Traxxas Titan only. All other motors including brushless are considered the SC class under ROAR rules. Must use the stockSlash tires. 1/10th offroad truck tires are not allowed. Cut tires are not allowed.
SC Class - ROAR rules in this class. Traxxas Slash and the SC10 are legal at this point, others may be legal but none are formally announced as of now. The Titan motor will be allowed in the SC class subject to possible change.
In SC class only tires that fit on the 2.2/3.0 or stock Slash wheel are allowed. No cut tires are allowed.
groundhogg 05-14-2009, 08:00 AM As far as I can tell.....
Stock slash....... just like you got out of the box. Titan motor, speedo, servo, etc. Except for receiver can be changed (only 6 27Mhz frequencies available).
SC10 class: any chassis as long as it fits the ROAR prescribed Short Course dimension rules. Stock 27t/17.5 motor. Any 3.0/2.2 tire (plus the Proline Beadlock line of tires for Short Course Trucks).

According to the rules posted you can change the speed control and servo along with the receiver in the stock Slash class.
Titan only
Slash tires only
Only direct replacement plastic parts. RPM would be a good example.
Tdevil 05-14-2009, 08:34 AM So is the SC class open motor?
2009 Rules

In SC class only tires that fit on the 2.2/3.0 or stock Slash wheel are allowed. No cut tires are allowed.
Titans, 27t brushed and 17.5 brushless are the only motors allowed in the SC class.
Any tire that fits the Slash/SC10 wheel (2.2/3.0) is legal. (This would include Goosebumps I would assume)
This is the only quote I found regarding the Proline 2.2 Beadlocks. From Fish on 5/8:
We would have to discuss it. I'm not sure. This is one of the inbetween things. The 2.2/2.2 rim is for the Slash. The Slash class requires the stock tire. A slash running in the SC class might have to switch to the 2.2/3.0 rims and tires. If we use a strict interpitaion. That was never discussed so I can't say yes or no to the 2.2/2.2 beadlocks on a Slash that is run in the SC class. The Proline Switch is available in the 2.2/3.0, Towerhobbies has wheels and some tires in stock for both the Slash and the SC10.
This is a new class, we will have to adress this and other issues next Friday/Saturday as they come up.
Sounds like a decision has not been made on the Proline 2.2 beadlocks and won't be made until this weekend unless I missed it somewhere.

Not sure if e or heff are going,I think not. Only 1 of my buds kinda wants to go.
Starting to think about skipping it. Seems there might not be enough buggys to risk the long drive with a chance of not running. If A few guys would chime in and say they were going it could be a really good time.
Thanks
hankster 05-14-2009, 04:06 PM I'll have my 1/8 buggy with me.
hankster 05-14-2009, 05:57 PM Just a note to those west of Battle Creek that will be going to Litchfield via I-94. I-94 will be closed until next week because of a bridge problem. You will have to get off at Capital Ave. and follow the detour signs to get back on.... be prepared for delays!
Leonard 05-14-2009, 06:41 PM WOW good to know thanx Hank !
carbon madness 05-14-2009, 09:25 PM Glad I'm comming up from IN and don't have to worry about that. lol
Just a few more days and it is race time.
Loony 05-14-2009, 10:53 PM It will be nice to meet some of you...
See you guys Friday @ noon
Good Luck everyone
Loony
420 Tech R/C 05-14-2009, 11:39 PM I should be out around 3 or 4. Brandon and I have some last minute stuff to take care of then we will be on our way.

Apl Hed 05-15-2009, 11:32 AM I took today off, weather sucks, look like Ill be there tomarow though, with my 1/8 buggy. And everything else. If its rained out on sat, we race sunday?
kwiksi 05-15-2009, 05:13 PM So it's supposed to rain overnight. Will there be a later start time? Does the track drain well?
hankster 05-15-2009, 09:39 PM They will run when the track is dry enough to run. No one know at this time when that will be. Be prepared to race at 9am
hankster 05-15-2009, 09:41 PM A bit if rain at Litchfield :)

XXX-Steve 05-15-2009, 09:49 PM Supposed to get a ton more rain tonight. Hope the track drys up and you guys can get the race in at some point tomorrow. If not, you could at least run Slashes, haha.
chedda 05-15-2009, 10:37 PM so any idea yet if there will be racing tomorrow? i do not want to drive out there for nothing :(
jasburrito 05-15-2009, 11:14 PM so any idea yet if there will be racing tomorrow? i do not want to drive out there for nothing :(
+1 talkin with a few guys about it now. anyone? Radar looks kinda bad till about 9!
hankster 05-15-2009, 11:16 PM I would suspect there will be racing. Most likely will start a bit late. In the past 10 years I have raced MARS/MORL, the race has never been canceled. This is nothing compared to some of the rains we had a Stateline over the past couple of years :) Local weather said it should move out of the Coldwater area about 6am.
doitforfun3300 05-16-2009, 01:05 AM If anyone is at the track early with a way to post on here, please do so and give us a track report.
Thanks!
Brett
XXX-Steve 05-16-2009, 04:08 AM The rain looks to be done with. Have fun out there today, guys!
kwiksi 05-16-2009, 05:29 AM Looks like rains done with. I'll be headed out. Just hope it's not a mud bog.
Gixer J 05-16-2009, 05:54 AM Hey guys, is there any new status with the race being called? Its almost 6AM and just don't want to drive 2 hours each way for a cancelled race..
Live Radar Map showed lots of severe weather over Litchield just few hours ago.
THANKS FOR ANY NEW UPDATE GUYS!!:)
hankster 05-16-2009, 10:54 AM Still drizzle once in a while but it looks like racing will start soon. 25 heats. 202 entries get to play in the mud!
Loony 05-17-2009, 02:10 AM I can't believe how good the track was with 9+ hours of rain, It dried up enough so your car came off clean but traction was perfect.
The layout was really good and the surface I thought held up REALLY well for 25 heats and 202 entries.
Looking forward to Jones now.
420 Tech R/C 05-17-2009, 02:28 AM I have a question guys, when we go to stateline will we be running the slash's and SCT's on the off road track, or the purpose built short course track Kevin has built in the oval??? It sure would be cool if the short course trucks could run the SC track there so kevin wouldnt have to worry about scaling back the off road quite so much.By the way, loony your truck looked dialed out there today man!!

Wow that is very good idea, It looks like the offroad was made for 1/8's anyway, I hope that idea gets thought about and discussed.
By the way, loony your truck looked dialed out there today man!!
Thanks! I want to thank Jesse and Bill for the last second purchase of some goosebumps, It made a world of difference.
And by the way you also were dialed, I marshaled all of your qualifying rounds and you got that thing working so good.
kwiksi 05-17-2009, 07:35 AM What a long day. Sucks that mother nature was being a b@#$% and we couldn't run a 3rd qualifier. Nice track. Well run program.
Wish racers in my main would learn about patience. Maybe the track lighting didn't help, who knows. There was cleaner racing in the Slash mains.
VR Swapped 05-17-2009, 10:30 AM A bit if rain at Litchfield :)

This was a blast. The truck even came off clean since all the puddles washed it as I ran it. Had a great time hanging out with every one again and lots of good racing.
LOSI_Duck 05-17-2009, 11:38 AM Had a blast, Ken thanks for the nice track to run at. 200+ entries awesome.
LOSI_Duck 05-17-2009, 11:59 AM btw that Race announcer we had, was hilarious I wish he could do all the races, no offense to anyone else but he added a great touch to a long day. And thats why it is so much fun to race the MORL.
beefgravy 05-17-2009, 12:10 PM Nice job everyone. I want to say thanks to Ken and everyone who helped me get my truck unstuck.
HandyRacing 05-17-2009, 01:50 PM I thought it was a great time, gotta love the Michigan spring time weather...
it did everything but snow, seemed like.
Working on the vids this evening, will check back after I get a look at the first ones to see if they turned out OK in the dark.
420 Tech R/C 05-17-2009, 02:02 PM btw that Race announcer we had, was hilarious I wish he could do all the races, no offense to anyone else but he added a great touch to a long day. And thats why it is so much fun to race the MORL.
I agree 1000%!!! The guy was AWESOME!!!:thumbsup:He kept the mood on the drivers stand light , and he kept up with the leader's lap times EVERY lap ,which is a big help if your trying to chase somebody down.
Also the entertainment factor reminded me of some of the announcing that goes on at cleveland for the carpet nats.
carbon madness 05-17-2009, 03:44 PM Yeah the announcer was great, and very enrtaining.
The track was alot of fun, and that was my first time racing under the lights (good thing my scheme is nice bright). I was also amazed at how close the racing was for everyone. I just wish my ESC didn't go out in my 4wd buggy
One race donw, now I can't wait to go to Jones.
Kirs thanks again for the buggy wing.
running the sc track at stateline has my vote.
