Leonard 05-08-2009, 03:25 PM The 2.2/2.2 rim is for the Slash. A slash running in the SC class might have to switch to the 2.2/3.0 rims and tires. If we use a strict interpitaion. That was never discussed so I can't say yes or no to the 2.2/2.2 beadlocks on a Slash that is run in the SC class. The Proline Switch is available in the 2.2/3.0
So the same tire would be illegal on the beadlock rim but ok on the 2.2/3.0 in the sc class. If soft case lipos were allowed last year, I think this should be allowed the same leaniencey. If someone was trying to run steppins, that that would be wrong, but it is the same tire.
Mac The Knife 05-08-2009, 05:36 PM I talked to Nick this afternoon, and he stated that for the Slash Spec class, only the Traxxas Slash tires can be used. For the SC class, any tire designed for SC trucks may be used.
Leonard 05-08-2009, 06:32 PM Thats cool
sbrady#0 05-08-2009, 10:04 PM wonder if the slashes will be treated like the 1/18ths like toys that dont belong
what ever happen to the 1/18 car/trucks
one18thscalerac 05-08-2009, 11:01 PM they all got tired of the cars being non marshalled and 'spiked' like a football when they were marshalled having to decide the top 3 finish order by playing rock paper scissors did i forget anything 420?
420 Tech R/C 05-08-2009, 11:18 PM dont forget the poor 18t's getting beat up on by herbies 2wd mini-t and the Cheap ass mini-inferno clones i bought from hong kong for 59.00 RTR .....LOL!!!ah the funny memories!
420 Tech R/C 05-08-2009, 11:31 PM I talked to Nick this afternoon, and he stated that for the Slash Spec class, only the Traxxas Slash tires can be used. For the SC class, any tire designed for SC trucks may be used.
so then the J concepts goosebumps for the 2.2/3.0 wheels are now legal then?????
Mac The Knife 05-09-2009, 07:51 AM so then the J concepts goosebumps for the 2.2/3.0 wheels are now legal then?????
Now that maybe a grey area in the rules.
Loony 05-09-2009, 09:51 AM The Slash Spec class will use stock tires.
And the Short Course Class will use any 2.2/3.0 tire.
The only problem I see is now I have to spend 300.00 in tires and wheels for a class that should of stayed inexpensive.
one18thscalerac 05-09-2009, 11:59 AM ditto on tires
munsonator08 05-09-2009, 05:48 PM I will be racing at litchfield this saturday. other races i will attend will be according to my work schedule

420 Tech R/C 05-09-2009, 06:22 PM Now that maybe a grey area in the rules.
well I think they need to decide how much of a "grey" area it really is before next weekend.
one18thscalerac 05-09-2009, 06:48 PM they will decide prolly the nite before im just gana run my 2.2/2.2s and hope they tech that as good as the buggy wieght

J Blaze 05-10-2009, 09:36 AM The Slash Spec class will use stock tires.

slash 200 cheap!
ohhh, I don't need another car. What I meant was I wish they would of stuck
with a certain tire that everyone had to use and leave it up to driving. The rule change was way to late IMO. People had already bought tires. And with the rule change I want to buy 3 different sets and 2 of them I cannot get because they are back ordered.
I'm going to Litchfield with what I have, I will race within the rules and have fun doing it. Just pissed that I could of had more options.
groundhogg 05-10-2009, 06:35 PM Food solution?
last year, Mrs Hamilton put together pizza/sub orders from the local pizza place, scheduled at good intervals through the day
I'd imagine she'll do it again this year.

airconde 05-11-2009, 01:56 PM ............
Loony 05-11-2009, 03:06 PM The flyers on the MORL page will not open.
Fix that quick as new people will need directions.
Nevermind- It is a firefox issue.
Opens fine with Internet Explorer.
--------------------------
FishRC 05-11-2009, 03:31 PM Thanks Loony. I tested it this morning and it was working, so tried it now in Firefox and yes, there is a PDF issue with Firefox.
AEoffroader 05-11-2009, 04:11 PM For firefox all you have to do is delete a backslash that gets added:

I was hoping to give my sc10 its first throwdown, but I can't figure out what the tire rules are now....I thought the outline ROAR made was being followed for the sc class and the only tires that were legal are the stock slash, stock sc10, and proline switch tires (doesn't matter on inner diameter as the rules simply state 3.0 as the max). The goose bumps showed up after the addendum and I have not seen anything about them mentioned by roar.
If anyone shows up with goose bumps the rest of us are toast.:o
Anyways, at the very least I'll be there with my stock buggy, 4wd, and 8e
Loony 05-11-2009, 06:53 PM Very good points AE.
And I agree with you.
What is the call, I am nervous to buy tires I don't need. Time is running out
And most stuff now is back ordered.
...
hankster 05-11-2009, 07:00 PM I have some Goosebumps mounted on Slash rims if anyone wants to "rent" them.... to the highest bidder :)
420 Tech R/C 05-11-2009, 08:13 PM If anyone shows up with goose bumps the rest of us are toast.:o
consider the rest of us toast then. a couple guys were spotted running them at litchfeild for practice on sat.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
420 Tech R/C 05-11-2009, 08:41 PM Ok, here is the scoop on what we will start with at Litchfield for the SC Classes.
Slash stock - No aluminum aftermarket parts, plastic aftermarket parts are allowed to replace the bulkhead, arms and outer hubs. Radio, receiver, servo and speed control may be changed. Motors in this class are to be Traxxas Titan only. All other motors including brushless are considered the SC class under ROAR rules. Must use tires that would normally fit on the Slash/SC10 rims. 1/10th offroad truck tires are not allowed. Cut tires are not allowed.
SC Class - ROAR rules in this class. Traxxas Slash and the SC10 are legal at this point, others may be legal but none are formally announced as of now. The Titan motor will be allowed in the SC class subject to possible change.
In all classes the only approved tires to this point are: Tire Patterns - Proline 1076 or 1078; AE 9809; Traxxas 5871
This post is the reason that goose bumps should not be allowed at litchfeild. The tires listed By part number were advertised as the only legal tires that were going to be allowed at litchfeild. Hence that is what people bought. It would be some underhanded dirty pool to allow other tires with less than a week till race day, especially for those who do not frequently check this forum. Those guys would get caught with their pants down 100% on this deal, and basically be bringing water balloons to a grenade fight. For the next race, fine. But at least make an official announcement saying that J Concepts part# XXXXXX is also legal to run in the roar sct class since all the other legal tires have been listed out by both name and part #.To give some "grey area" explaination is cheesy at best. I mean the rules DONT say I cant mount a Pneumatic spatula to my truck to flip slow trucks out of my way, but that doesnt mean it would be right , or acceptable , to do so.:wave:By the way, I do own some goosebumps, and the listed pro-lines,AE,and traxxas tires for my sct, so I dont personally care either way.But if they are allowed i hope officials are ready to hear those people who were caught unprepared to be highly P.O.ed over it.
Loony 05-11-2009, 08:41 PM Man, the late tire rule change has really screwed me.
I am going to have fun in Litchfield but I vote for the changes to take effect race 2.
Give people a chance to buy them. I spoke with someone with JConcepts and he said 2 weeks.
420 Tech R/C 05-11-2009, 08:46 PM loony you have a PM bro!!
Mac The Knife 05-11-2009, 10:06 PM Stormer had listed 6 pairs in stock
Mac The Knife 05-11-2009, 10:07 PM Anyone want a chassis brace for their SC10?
speeddaddy 05-11-2009, 10:15 PM Does this mean there going to change the rules every week now?
Loony 05-12-2009, 12:30 AM Anyone want a chassis brace for their SC10?
Did you make some too?
Mine are 15.00 and are WAY better than FN Cuda's.
one18thscalerac 05-12-2009, 06:59 AM another tire change? did i miss somthing or are my switch 2.2s still out? i wanted to race the sct to keep things simple but it sounds like thats going out the door
el camino 05-12-2009, 07:46 AM Does this mean there going to change the rules every week now?
I live in delton also. Usually when I say delton, people say "where?"
J Blaze 05-12-2009, 08:03 AM hank when did you get your goose bumps?
didnt they come out like 2-3 weeks ago?
hankster 05-12-2009, 02:53 PM I've had them for a couple of months now. Got some of the first production run.
Mac The Knife 05-12-2009, 04:11 PM Did you make some too?
Mine are 15.00 and are WAY better than FN Cuda's.
I'll give him credit for coming up with the first one, or at least the first person to break the SC10 chassis. But, a cnc mill, and a sheetmetal brake does make for a better looking brace.
Stateline R/C 05-12-2009, 04:22 PM once again thats why the stock spec slash class should have been just that... take it out of the box and race it, very simple rules, and you could change the reciever/radio.
Loony 05-12-2009, 05:42 PM I'll give him credit for coming up with the first one, or at least the first person to break the SC10 chassis. But, a cnc mill, and a sheetmetal brake does make for a better looking brace.
I agree...
Mine are made of .063 alum, Laser cut, tapered holes and power coated.
They cost 11.00 to make and the minimum is 100.
I don't have the cash to get the ball rolling so I'm backing out and just going with the proto types I made.
I will have a few for sale at Litchfield. 15.00
Plus, I would of made 100 of them (for 1100.00) and Assocaited will come out with a fix and I will be stuck with a bunch of Alum paper weights.
Cuda is a quick thinker and will make a boat load of cash.
Leonard 05-12-2009, 06:54 PM another tire change? did i miss somthing or are my switch 2.2s still out? i wanted to race the sct to keep things simple but it sounds like thats going out the door
switches are fine
groundhogg 05-13-2009, 07:57 AM And that is what Slash is, Stateline.
It is Short Course class which has the morphing rules......
