Hello I have a few questions about the SK class of racing. These are basic and might sound a little silly. But im looking for new chassis ideas for our circut along with some high speed oval. I am in Japan so there really inst any information here about SK racing of course. But I am a big fan of oval racing and sponcer a class every year at the World Drome event here in Japan.

First it looks like to me that the SK cars are all 1/12th based. And are the wheels also 1/12th based?

Also I can only seem to find two companies that make chassis for Sk racing.

The KSKT and Beefy products both look like nice chassis but are there anymore out there with websites i can browse?

Thank you:)

Question 1--The cars are equipt with 1/10 scale pancar tires. You are correct with the 1/12 scale size. They are really in the middle between 1/10 &1/12.

Question 2-- Beefy Products is out of Business, And KSKT is the best around at this time. You wont find better customer service anywhere. There is another Company based outof CT and I'm not sure of any web site info for them but the company name is DRC Engineering.

IF you goto the product support thread here on Hobbytalk you will find threads for both Companys KSKT and DRC.

Hope this helps.

How ya doin? SK RACING IS FUN!!!

First off the SK cars here in the States are actually 1/10 scale and use 1/10 scale tires/front end parts/differentials/rear axles etc. The KSKT Dual chassis can be ran as a SK car or with the addition of a front bumper and correct body a 1/10 pan car. KSKT makes this car in a full kit and also as a conversion, they also make bodys, hardware, lubes and other parts.
They look smaller because in Full scale a Modified (which is what these cars are designed to look like) is smaller than a full size car.

Heres a link to KSKT : www.kskts.com
and a link to there support thread here on HobbyTalk: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=197304

We run the cars with 4-cell nimh packs and 17.5 brushless motors a little faster than stock 4-cell speeds but an absolute Ball to drive.
I beleive DRC makes a SK conversion kit also.

Hello again

Thanks for all the information, everybody has been more than helpful. All of the SK chassis that you have shown me are nice looking and well thoght out.
What I was thinking of was a class for our circuit here as well as maybe running them at the World Drome event here in Japan. 4 or 5 years ago we ran the Bolink Classic Indy chassis as a class and there wasnt a problem with them on the drome.

The problem here in Japan is that most of the parts that are used in the SK class are Assoiated parts. These are not the cheapest parts here in Japan and are not that common. So that creates a problem of us here as the class could get very expensive soon.

Our thought now is produceing a body of SK type to fit the Tamiya F103 chassis as these are cheaper here and we have our own oversized wheels to make them look true to scale for a SK. Also a offset chassis plate for the F103 isnt out of the question.

Thanks for all the links and advise. When we get something figured out I will post some pictures and details here as this looks to be the bast place for Oval information.

Thanks again.

1/10th scale/1/12th scale? So it is a 1/12 scale chassis and axle with 1/10th scale hubs?

D- Drive Sports,

Many of the Sk cars are Converisons Kits. These cars require the purchase of other parts to complete the car. Hyperdrive has a complete car with body. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=275678 The chassis are between a 1/10th and 1/12th size. The bodies are 1/12th and made by KSKT and Windtunnel http://www.windtunnelracingproducts.com/product_info.php?products_id=139 Here are the rules http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=262278

Hope this helps
