Just came from Target and the new " set" for the R/C and Slots is now up.

Here is a little Target 101:

Price Tag contains lots of info.

1 - Item
2 - Price
3 - DCPI - Target lingo for Department Class Item NOTE 9 numbers
4 - Shelf location ( 4-2-1 ) 4th section ( 4 feet ) , 2nd shelf, 1st item - example
p stands for peg - peg6 ( 5-3-p6)
5 - Number of facings listed after Shelf Location
6 - UPC Number ( last 5 or 6 numbers )

The shelfs were empty but, here are the Names and Numbers

Set Nascar $79.99
DCPI 087-05-0586

2 Car Asst $19.99
DCPI 087-05-0591

Track Asst. $14.99

Set Street $49.99

Note - if a gray dot is next to or on top of the tag, Target has looked in the back room and no locations were found, ie no stock.

GREAT LITTLE TRICK - Find a price scanner - enter the 9 DCPI and the screen will list all the info above and states if any are in the back room. Numbers are on the right of the scanner.

PLUS - if none are out - ask a " Team Member" one with one of the grey hand held things ( PDA ) and ask them to check other stores for counts and locations. Yes, they can do that. F.Y.I the nicer you are, the more they will help you.

Yea, saw that today also. They had a figure 8 set for fifty bucks, too bad, I already bought a Tomy International set on the bay for eighty nine plus shipping...not a bad deal, I thought.

Thanks for the great info Cheater Slick (aka Voxxer). We didn't have to meet you in a dark parking garage to get the info either! Woodward and Bernstein never had it this good. Eeveryone rent "All the President's Men" if you didn't see it back in the day - Hoffman and Redford at their best:

Excellent info Voxxer! Thanks for sharing and yes, just as I thought they clearanced anything that was left at the store to restock and resetup their shelves. I figured this out about a year or so ago when I started purchasing some of the 1/43 cars from Target. Interesting how they do that from time to time.
