Any idea what brand the track is in the batman pic? It looks like 4 lane track.
I used to see Jeff ( an electrcian now) from the Slap Shot movie almost every day at the supply house I worked at in Muskegon MI, waited on him many times before I found out he was in the movie.

I haven't thought about the Carlsons (Hansons) for a while now. I still remember in college when Mike their brother told us his brothers were going to be in a movie with Paul Newman. We told him he was full of Sh*t. Turned out the Virginia Mn. movie star connection was alive and well. Don't know if the slot car scenes helped or hurt the hobby. I guess most any exposure is good. Right?

I believe the Hanson Brothers were wearing slotcar racing glasses... These were on the market long before the slotcar racing goggles came about.. The glasses made 1/43 cars look like 1/24th scale, but only had a range of about 7 feet, where as the new racing goggles make HO scale cars look like 1/24th and had a range of 20+ feet...
Rumor has it, all three of these dudes forgot to take their racing glasses off on a snack and soda run and were noticed by a Hollywood casting agent at their local 7/11. The glasses became part of their "image" and history was made.... On a humorous side note, they thought they were buying "huge bottles of soda" and the "biggest bags of Fritos" they had ever seen..."and at regular price!!!!!" I hope you realize I'm kidding...right??
