What exactly was this thread started for? Is Hobby World looking to put in a off-road track? or dirt oval or something.....please explain further. Thanks!

It would be great to do some 2wd, 4wd, and ST. Lipo's and brushless.

Don't know about putting in and off-road track but there will be a Tank battlefield going in sometime soon.Again is anyone interested in real on-road racing on a real road course at HW? I'm not buying a Traxx's truck only to have this again as another passing fad at HW or anywhere else. Done that too many times in the past-just to have it collect dust in a few months.I could go back and list afew- Tamiya mid- night pumpkin, Tamiya Hot Shot 4wd, Schumaker 1/5 scale Lotus,Traxxs 4wd and E Maxx trucks,Formula 1, Legends,Spec Trucks and Spec racing .Some lasted a few years other died quickly within a month or so.For $200.00 for this play truck I could use the money for my other R/C stuff I actually use.

I'm in for some offroad. I still have some 1/10 trucks (elec & nitro) that I would love to blow the dust off of. I'd really like to pick up a 1/10 elec 4wd buggy. Unfortunately not being of the 1/8 spirit (or wallet) I prefer 1/10 elec and that will probably make me a minority.

If an off-road track or dirt oval is built, I'd be up for dirt oval (Sprint Cars), Slash Class, and 2wd Mod.

I don't see getting a slash, i could spend the money on better things. I would love to do 4wd off road elec. ,that B44 looks sweet!

how about starting by actually giving a crap about what is going on back there. mybe stocking a few esencial parts like bodies, wings, wing mounts, wing buttons, Lipo's, esc's , 21.5 motors, 17.5 motors, gears, tires.

Wow, so much negativity. The program @ HW is fine cause George, Stoney, Phil, Eugene, Robsux and the handful of faithful that show up on a regular basis are the program. These guys barely miss a Sat. and that's usually only when they are racing elsewhere. If the rest of the fly by night fairweather friend racers don't take advantage of the opportunity given to them by these guys showing up and running races even when no one else shows up then that's on them NOT THE PROGRAM. Hey brain storm (or fart I'm never sure which) Can we change the unofficial title of the locals from "Team Jax" to "The Program"?! I can just see it in big letters on the front of the shirt "You Need To Get With This" and then "The Program" on the back. LOL

Dave Dont Use The Excuse That We Dont Want To Run With Fast Guys Like You Or Phil Or The Pedondos To Not Come Out And Race I Have Been Losing To Fast Guys Like The Pedonos And Phil And Alot Of Other Fast Guys For Years And I Allways Have A Good Time Racing Even When I Am In 10th Place Or Worse But Yet I Show Up Everyweek. But Yet I Am Allways There Fighting To Find More Speed And A Better Setup To Get Faster And Even Try To Learn New Things From All Of You Fast Guys. it's ok Rob i don't mind. you are right i haven't been. so i'll be honest here. over the past few months it has become harder and harder to race. money has been tight. if i had the money to buy a 21.5 motor ( $80) and a 3200 pack ($100) i would be there. but I don't. and to be honest for me it wouldn't be fun. (the racing) hanging with you guys would be.


an I am not saying one bad word about any of you guys. you are all great guys. my beef is with the shop. they have a awesome track. rather than try to rebuild the racing at that track they want another one. for a long long time they have showed zero interest in the track they have that could be a gold mine.

If you don't have anything but a figure 8 set-up for on road why would I want to show up. Why don't you run your oval cars in a figure 8? The same reason I won't. I don't show up because I'm usually asleep. If you had a on-road program I would make it a point of showing up to race.Why do I want to waste my time packing up and driving to get there and there is no road track set-up period.The big promotion for now is the Traxxs Slash- great setup a real on -road track and when it's there turn setup the jumps out.
99% of the on-road guys have put up there equipment.There are two guys that travel to on-road races left in this town.Now the track needs drivers because there are no new blood coming over to race.You can't rely on the Hobbyshop to promote it. You can talk with the few other shops into putting up a sign telling them what and when you race.You could even form a club or committee, just to split the duties up.What a waste sitting behind Hobby World and only what 9 people are using it?Now if your going to spend your money to build an off-road track or dirt oval it is not going to happen.

Does Minnreg have a hobbyshop on site?

What about Boylan's track in Tampa?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they do.
I believe those 3 tracks draw more Jax. racers then Da' Monster.

I don't see how it's not you. I have been racing there about 10 years now and I have yet to see you race even when we were running touring. so I'm sorry bill but you have no right to complain. I stayed in the touring class for years trying to keep it alive but I couldn't afford the tires anymore. I am sorry to say but when I finaly quit running touring everybody else quit too.

Im sorry guys but we are the ones having fun thats all we are trying to achive is to have fun when and if people come back to race we will race you I don't care if you are faster then me or not I will race with you. We are not going to stop holding oval races. If people show up to race you altough it may not be the style of racing you are use to but we will race you.

That track has sat there for 2 years with no touring racers and we decide to have a litle fun with our dirt cars and then we get complaints. Alls I can say is get an oval car or a dirt car and come out and bash around with us and have fun. we are by no means profesional racers we just want to have fun. the people that come out to play dictate what we run.

I'm not pointing fingers one way or the other or trying to put anyone down I'm just not tactful about my motivational speaches. So in simplest terms an individual is either part of the problem or part of the solution. I'll let you all categorize youselfs and hope everyone puts away their IMMENSE egos for two seconds while they honestly evaluate which category they belong in! And yes I know there are plenty of those who have in the past put in an immeasurable effort to establish what we have. NEWS FLASH, if we want a program then there's still work left to do just to maintain what we currently have and even more if we want to make improvements. As for the store they are a business. Yes they are here for their customers and all that but in the end their goal is to make money not loose and there's not much money to be made off of racers in general let alone in the current economy. Race technology is the test bed for ingenuity that eventually trickles down to the lowest common denominator which is the backyard basher. And before everyone disagrees with me I'll say this; If there's so much money to be made from racers why has no one shown up with a trailer like Jeremy's to corner the market that the store is not competing in? My final thought is a memory from childhood when my brothers best friend was somewhere he should'nt be doing something he shouldn't be doing and got stuck. We were all trying to figure out how to get him out when he shouted "Don't just stand there talking DO SOMETHING"! We all grabbed what we could, pulled, and lo and behold out pops Danny. There was a reason why I did not show up and race.That was between me and the other people involved.The question or phase was said there was on-road racing weekly? I guess some of my out dated junk people wanted as it's all gone. If you were not interested that's fine you did not buy any of it did you. My present out dated junk is now the new thing on the track- World GT.Narrow pan cars have been around for over ten years.So what has my dog got to do with anything?She just goes to all the races I do- other local- state -regional -nationals or Worlds.

For talking them into saving our money and building a permanet track somewhere.To Roy Phillips for getting him to lug the orginal trailer down from his house to the location on Blanding blvd.twice a month in his old red and white dodge truck.To Leroy Carrigg for following me down to Melbourne to get a computer system and trailer . For getting the club to host many state-regional and national events.To every one for getting screwed by the paving company while paving the track.To C. Armstrong for coming up to Jacksonville to re- roll the track and spending a week up here in his RV( from Naples).For the club doing all the landscaping around the track.For rewiring the track so 200 people can use the electric. For picking up all the garbage around and near the Chicken Koop for several years.For fixing the drivers stand and adding a handicapped area.That should do it for those I needed to apolize to. All I wanted to do in my old age is to have some place locally to race on-road. Now that I can attend (Saturday afternoon).Before I could not attend Friday nights or Saturday.Now that I'm off in the daytime it's just easier to attend.Oh the Dog would like to attend also?

Well Bill we will be starting a once a month program soon If you can get enough guys to race you, I will talk to the guys about redoing the touring track to its original state after they are done running the slashes.No promises. Your Dog is welcome to come out but you, not so much LOL (just kidding). I would like to see how fast you realy are one day. Papa Ray would be some stiff compitition for ya maybe.

If I catch so much as a hint of there being a regular crowd of TCs out there I'll be there or if the touring guys post that they're all going to show on a particular date I'll be there. I'm just not able to lead the charge right now or I'd be wearing people out about touring. I'm not even able to lead a charge for offroad (isn't that the subject of this thread anyway) but I have left my # w/Rook hoping that this all gets approval from the property owners and I will cancel other obligations just to help build an offroad track cause just maybe if the facility is there I'll have the opportunity race on it when I can. And if the track gets built I can gaurantee I won't keep reminding everyone of my past contributions as if they somehow entitle me to the expectation that everyone else does the work I'm not willing to do myself!

My .02 for what its worth.......DIRT OVAL

Its really getting popular and making a come back. Custom Works released a competitive loose dirt sprint car for under $300.oo and Losi is really supporting the Dirt Oval scene w/ mini LM's, Sliders, 1/10 Slider and now the 1/8 LM. Also, there is a whole new National Rules Package which is very easy to follow and is cheaper for racers once the initial investment is made.

I think touring cars are about dead, the on-road track would be a perfect conversion area for a dirt oval????
