Tim Mc 01-05-2009, 12:11 AM This is what your ring should look like....no groove. Forgot to add... Zenoah part number T2070-41210 savageboy69 01-05-2009, 01:33 AM Mine doesn't have a groove on it and neither does my replacement ring WRP 01-05-2009, 02:04 AM Mine doesn't have a groove on it and neither does my replacement ring There is no groove on the piston ring itself. Just make sure the arrow on the piston is pointing to the exhaust side of the head also make sure you have the right size for the piston you are using. Mike willmannracingproducts.com Tim Mc 01-05-2009, 02:17 AM I guess we should have asked... this is a Zenoah RC230 right?which way does the grove in the ring go up or down Slider 01-05-2009, 10:43 AM ............... lonwolpf 01-05-2009, 12:26 PM Yes it is the Zenoah and if you take a magnifying glass and look you will see that one edge of the ring is flanged. Thats what I thought... just wasn't sure jeffdavis38 01-06-2009, 12:19 AM You guys are fining those top secret HP tricks. That is a little of that HP no one can find. LOL:thumbsup: Yeap, it works just like as it does on bigger engines.:) Brent, You better take yours back down and check it. I know you didn't use a magnifying glass to build yours. LOL:wave: WRP 01-06-2009, 02:01 AM To make things simple, you should have a yellow mark on the ring. That mark should face to the right of the pin on the piston or you can file a edge on the ring, top and bottom but that means I need stronger glasses:freak: Brent another trick LOL  Brent 01-06-2009, 03:53 PM Your right Jeffery, I never looked. I was just happy to have a ring in that wasn't stuck. I usually do ring changes between heats at NCS races. You gotta hustle to get it done to time. Which means no time to look for bevels. Hell I didn't even know there was one, Damn! FMurry8995 01-06-2009, 07:10 PM This is what your ring should look like....no groove. Forgot to add... Zenoah part number T2070-41210 The 2070-41210 is the ring for the black cap motor. The ring for the red cap motor is 2071-41210. LOL ///// jeffdavis38 02-28-2009, 11:12 PM Hope everyone has rebuilt there engine and made sure the ring is in right. I'm rebuilding mine this weekend.;) Mike Clark 03-05-2009, 02:09 PM What are most of you racers doing in respect to changing rings? Every other race? When you think it needs it? Or like me and watch the engine compression? FMurry8995 03-05-2009, 02:48 PM What are most of you racers doing in respect to changing rings? Every other race? When you think it needs it? Or like me and watch the engine compression? Mike: I run the engine until it starts to fall off on performance. Then I will rebuild it. With the oils we use today the wear is not a significant issue. As a rule I have found the longer you runit the better it gets. Now there are limits to this. The motor I am running now is in its second season and it is now a strong high revvin horse. IN2RACIN 03-05-2009, 02:50 PM What are most of you racers doing in respect to changing rings? Every other race? When you think it needs it? Or like me and watch the engine compression? Mid season on my weekly car. My sprint motor (shorter races too) has never been ringed. I only race my sprint about 5 - 6 times a year, so it is still strong. I will not ring it this year either. lonwolpf 03-05-2009, 02:53 PM Mike: I run the engine until it starts to fall off on performance. Then I will rebuild it. I have one that I havn't touched in over a year and it seems to keep getting stronger & Stronger RACING HARD 03-05-2009, 06:35 PM 10 I think vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
