I'm not sure who to ask ,does anyone know if its ok to use pics from the photo gallery on the Qsac site? I'm building a website for myself,to promote the big scale racing in this area, there certainly wont be any money made from it,its strictly for promotion of the hobby

You are welcome to use the photos. All we ask is that you do not Plagiarize them. As with anything you get off the internet or books or publications of any kind, we ask you do not pass them off as your own.

QSAC is all for the promotion of this hobby and please let us know if you need any help or further information.

In case you are wondering what that means, please see the following, and help your self to the photos:

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means

to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
to use (another's production) without crediting the source
to commit literary theft
to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source. In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.
But can words and ideas really be stolen?

According to U.S. law, the answer is yes. The expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property, and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions. Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file).
All of the following are considered plagiarism:

turning in someone else's work as your own
copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not (see our section on "fair use" rules)Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources. Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed, and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source, is usually enough to prevent plagiarism. See our section on citation (http://www.plagiarism.org/learning_center/what_is_citation.html) for more information on how to cite sources properly.

Well I'm not a website builder,or a great literary, I'm just a fabricator in a HotRod shop that really likes 1/4 scales!,Actually Dedeye(owner of our new local track in Maine) gave me a sample website building program to try out so I couldnt resist! We allready have a few new racers for our track up here ,hopefully more than just a few and I figured the new guys might find some of my added setup info helpful in getting thier cars going, the veteran racer can skip over that stuff, I added alot of racing action pics and links that I thought might be helpful to a new or first time 1/4 scale racer and I will be adding alot more as I go,I havn't got all the page alignment perfect yet and I'm still tinkering on it but I will post a link to the site and if you like you can check it out http://www.fastleft.net/index.html if any of you see a pic of your car or anything you dont want on there just let me know via email chvl67ss@roadrunner.com and I will remove it right away:thumbsup:
thanks
