I've recently aquired an orphan to add to my collection,
it is a 1/24th Motormax AutoFest 08 display sample 1964 1/2 mustang,orange in color.
My questions,
What was the hype surrounding the display samples?
Is this color exclusive to the display sample?
thanks
:)

Do you have a picture ? If this is the one we gave away at Dirty Bingo, then I think I remember it. From what I understand, display samples may have unique box designs or paint colors. You might want to check ePay to see if the orange color was offered as a standard color. I have two 1:43 Motormax Mustang display samples that I got at AF. Both have unique packaging and one is a unreleased color on that particular car. Hope this helps.

Hi Scott,
Yes,this is the one given away at dirty bingo,my Mom-in-law decided it was time to change her display and gave it to me.
Thanks much for the info,I'll have to investigate the box design and color.
I finally have a camera and can't figure out how to post pics...been working on teaching myself and running into problems along the way.I'll post a pic if I can ever figure this high tech stuff out.
thanks for the info :)

I could be a million things....or nothing. I for example have a green Gremlin in a Ford Maverick box. There is no pad prints on it yet so the details are all missing like door handles and window trim.
Some of the items were never going to be produced (Fresh Cherries stuff) some items had unproduced or incorrect packaging. Some were future releases and at the time unseen but once in the public hands not so rare. Everthing he sent had a story to it. We just need to find out on this one what it is!
