What kind of problem are you having with the IRS shocks?

Put the Silva rebuilds in the CRC or just buy the new Silva style shocks a monkey could build them smooth if he does not loose the e clips first LOL.

Silva:

Once you have the piston on the shaft. Put a drop or two of the iol you are going to fill the shock with on the very end of the shaft. This will lubricate the o-rings. Install the shaft and push it all the way down.

OVERFILL the shock body with your choice of oil, then work the piston up and down a few times to work out the bubbles, sit it to the side and repeat for the other shock. Let the shocks sit to let the bubbles rise. Work the piston up and down until all the bubbles are gone.

Put the bladder in the shock cap, then install the cap, allowing the excess oil to be squeezed out. Be sure you have the cap tightened all the way down. Now push the shaft up into the body, it should be smooth and push itself back out.

Taa-Daa!!! Best little shock on the market!

A little larger (dia.) adjusting nut for the spring would be great! Everything down there is the same diameter.

I saw some where on here that Silva has a new/larger adjusting nut.

I was told that there may be something new in the works as far as the nut goes.

The new larger shock collar for the HPS2 shocks is available directly from Silva. The website will be updated next week. Order the collars from the site and e-mail Dana that you want the new larger ones.

BTW, I think the original poster was looking for build directions for the original Silva shock. The link to the directions on RC-Oval are the best around, but as much as I tried I could not make them work. Now my brother, following the same directions, gets them on the first shot 99% of the time. So just practice.

Thank god for HPS2. Built 2 months ago. Raced every week but 2 since and still have good rebound.

I am sorry, I posted info on the Silva shocks, the HPS2's. I read the title of the post and had a brain poot.

I am with you John, I could never build their predecessors, the Delta shocks and I could not build these either. Thank goodness for the HPS2's!!!
