You can only race one car per lane. I've seen the kids put two or three cars in a lane then hit the juice. One or more of the cars will get power but it won't be an equal distribution and will end up in a wreck.

they have yet to create an ho version of the larger scale digital racing sets.the cars are just too darn small!if you wanto race more than one car per lane, check out carrera and scx and scalectrix digital sets in 1/32 and 1/24.you can individually program each car...they are pretty amazing from what i have seen.but expensive...

As long as your electrical system will handle it. I'll bet the controllers will be the weak link. Most parma contrllers will be fine, as long as you don't try eight storms or somethin'.

I run multple cars all the time on the oval. it's a great may to tell which car is faster if you have two that are very close.

It would be AWSOME to get a train of cars together and duke it out Talladega style goin' four wide and eight deep.......you would need some serious amps for that though. But the wrecks would be the stuff of legend:devil:

In my next life, I think I will need to figure out a way to use optical sensors to automate switch tracks (junction turn offs) to monitor cars spacings and automatically switch the route if the cars are too close... Of course in my next life I'll be a rich electrical engineer graduating top in my class at MIT...

This life is toast...

Waiting on Tomy to produce some 15" banked turns. 18" would be sweet to.....8 lanes of SPEED!

Doesn't the red lane win every time if the cars are equal because they can take the corners faster or does the shorter lap length effectively offset that? I would think red would win all the time.

red may win that heat more often then not, but don't forget you have to race all the lanes and ultimately that will decide the winner!

Actually white lane holds the 5min segment totals @240laps set back in 2003 with a P3/scorpion and at the last race 9 racers had over 200laps in blue w/235 tops,5 racers in yellow w/239 tops,9 racers in wht w/233 tops and 7 racers in red w/218 tops. You really need some gear in red since it is the long way around. 927 total laps is tops for a race.Turns are epoxied with J&B COLD WELD from underneath.

Interesting... By by estimates, the red lane is 28 inches longer than the blue lane; the white lane is 19 inches longer than the blue lane; and the yellow lane is 9 inches longer. The banking must be making quite a difference, allowing the blue to stay on the throttle. 28 inches on a track of that size doesn't seem like that much but if the banking helps everyone stay on the gas, it would be tough for red to overcome it.

Thanks for sharing. I always learn something when I stop by here.

At 1.05 a lap track record,36' down the middle your moving mighty fast over 22MPH.
