View Full Version : Need Some Help???
fly101 01-01-2009, 11:05 AM Hi Gang,
We are getting ready to open an indoor flat oval track. Surface is concret with asphalt sealer. Ive tried running some of my 15 year old cars on it and found that foam tires work best, also found that not much suspension is needed.
My 1st problem came when i tried to find a low cost car package that the younger group (10yrs to 16yrs) could afford. Need a ready to run package (Radio, Car, Battery and Charger). Need it to be in the 200.00 range like the old Bolink flat plate chassis. Is there anything out there that fits this bill? or is there someone out there that produces the parts that i could build with the kids.
My 2nd problem is finding a low cost lap counting system.
Thank You for Your Time and any Help You Could Give Me!!!
Ken

OvalTrucker 01-01-2009, 12:56 PM It could be difficult to get "brand new" pan-car setups for $200.
Windtunnnel has "The Breeze" (http://www.windtunnelracingproducts.com/product_info.php?cPath=42_166&products_id=1127) which would probably be a perfect entry level car for kids in that age group. It comes with just about everything except electronics.
Around here, [Central Michigan] most of the kids start out with RTR Trucks and Striker Tires for the stock truck class. That way they can bash around the yard with them at home if they wanted to.
Where is your track located?
Team T2C 01-01-2009, 01:33 PM we offer a complete RTR 1/10 PAN Car, but it is in the 699.00 retail range. It is however Brushless Lipo It comes with either 21.5 or 17.5 Motor, ESC, Radio, Tires, Body and 1C Battery. Local Hobby shop Normal Discounts can be applied to retail.
Fl Flash 01-01-2009, 02:27 PM For $200 ready to run I would look into running these http://www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0221
omnis85 01-01-2009, 03:07 PM Just and option even though its not RTR but these are 2 cars in 1.

Thats a Great option ( The SK cars ARE A BLAST to DRIVE ) and gives you a Quality chassis that can be competitive in any pan car class plus uses common parts with other pan cars ( front end/tires/motors/batts/bodys/gears/axle diff etc )
This would make a nice power package; http://www.shopatron.com/index/135.0.151.44638.0.0.0
Donnie_99 01-01-2009, 08:29 PM the sk cars are cool. the Losi slider latemodel prob the best option under 200

WLMaye 01-01-2009, 11:58 PM I'd say look at the Tamiya Mini Coopers or the legends cars. The coopers are great fun and can really take a beating.
How big is the track?
Bill
