I've just really started running brushless motors this years and are loving then but our track is only getting 4 to 6 car per night and it is a 10.5 with a spec to our track 3800 battery which makes for a fast class.

Now for the real question for our 09/10 saeson I'm trying to start a 17.5 class with an open 17.5 motors and speed controls, is there any real big diffrence in all the 17.5 motor brands out there?

I've had an opportunity to run an LRP and Trinity motor along with my Novaks. The only real advantage I have seen with those compared to the novak is the ability to shorten up the sensor wires. as far as performance, both seemed to lack a little top end vs the novak. The Trinity motor ran hot, the LRP was consistent but laptimes were just a tad off the Novak. Honestly they are all good pieces though, it just comes down to a matter of preference.

Anyone run the new Trinity Pulse 17.5 motor yet? Just wondering how it is to the Novak motors.

Would have to disagree with Casper on the Trinity motors running hot, mine runs about 30-40 degrees cooler than the novak did, also the trinity motors seem to be much more efficient at the end of the run. Not to sure about lrp, havent tried them.

Which trinity motor did you run, Duo or Pulse? Pulse motors have had issues with heat. I never had the chance to run a Duo motor

Casper, try a duo motor ........ it runs better then the novak and all the motors are very very consistent. One of the guys I race with bought just about every 17.5 motor when we switched to 17.5 lipo, he dynoed them and said the duo was just a little bit better then the rest.

we ran 10 car main last weekend in Daytona. there was one car with 50 laps (TQ) one car with 48 laps (10th) 2nd thru 9th were all 49 lap runs from a 4:01 to a 4:05 all using duo motors and smc 5000 lipo packs ........ and all speedos LRP,Novak and Tekin. the LRP tq'ed and the tekin won........very very close racing with the duo motors.

From what I heard the new pulse motor was junk @ cleveland indoor champs and the "new" version of he pulse will be now available sometime in march.

Yea, I knew the Pulse motors were problematic. I'll have to grab a Duo motor and give that one a shot. I have heard the new Pulse motors are supposed to be better, we'll find out soon enough.

I've been running the duo, friend tried running the pulse today and had nothing but trouble, the name was accurate because it pulsed on and off when pulling the trigger.
