After reading the RH Shelby Cars thread and giving in and ordering a few of the 1:64 for my collection (even though I'm geting away from that size scale, I couldn't resist a few of them) It got me thinking about the larger scale stuff they were offering, which I believe is 1:24.

Does anyone here have any of the largrer scale SC cars? What kind of quality do they have? The descriptions sound like they would be very nice! But $80 a pop is alot to drop sight unseen. Does anyone have any good photos of any of the larger scale stuff they could post on here? There are 3 or 4 of those Shelby's just screaming my name, but I'm not willing to just drop that kind of coin without getting some feedback first. When it comes to large scale stuff, I prefer the detail and quality of GMP and the like. So how do these compare? Thanks alot guys

I'm not 100% sure because I don't pay much attention to the larger stuff,I'm primarly 1/64th.

When I was looking over the 1/64th selection at Menards I think I remember seeing the larger SC stuff there. If I am correct with my memory, you can check them out in person at a Menards if you have one local to you.

Maybe some else can chime in and confirm or correct my thought.

Hi Al,

The RH 1:24 Shelbys are not made by Shelby Collectibles. They are either Danbury or Franklin Mint cars. I haven't bothered to look that closely at them to know which is which. I do know that as of now, SC is not in the 1:24 business. My friend works for Shelby Automobiles and handles all the diecast cars and has told me so. Hope this info helps.

The larger SC's are 1:18 not 1:24. I got the Cobra Supersnake for Christmas. I don't have a picture yet, but I will post it later. I am very happy with the quality and detail, although most of my collection is 1:64 so I don't have a lot to compare it to. It was also not $80, I think it was around 35-40 plus shipping.

I just picked this one up today at TRU. They are $ 59.99 if anyone is interested. I wouldn't normally pick this one up, but it is beautiful in chrome and it is the 85th Birthday edition. Plus I had a couple of TRU gift cards to use up :)

I have a bunch of 1/18 Shelby Collectibles . They are usually under $50 . Anyone charging over $80 is scamming ... Quality is on par with Ertl , etc ..

Al, I got it off ebay. I am not big into large scale diecast due to cost/display space involved, but this is one that I really wanted. I did a search a little bit ago and if you search for super snake in diecast vehicles there a few that are reasonable prices. My family and I went to the factory over my break and they had some there, but it cost more to buy them there then off of ebay including shipping.

I was really happy with it! I pulled it out of the box to wipe it off and remove the plastic strips holding everything shut and popped it right back in the box.
